Hope they've got that out of their system.

Agree this last point.

Not suggesting that Mitrovic slacks off but him getting the record he was striving for certainly takes some of the pressure off him to overstretch himself.

Does he bust a gut now and risk injury?

I don't see what good Fulham going at absolute full pelt gives them now.

They can rest players if they want, try others if they feel like it. It's their prerogative that they've earned. As we found out to our detriment when Liverpool did it against Fulham, they can really please themselves. Would you risk Cairney, having hobbled off for example? Why risk injury?

Not taking anything lightly but them playing us now is just another game for them. The prize is already achieved.

It's also made Luton the prime target more than us.

They are struggling to put a team together, lost a further two players tonight, one in the warm up. Reading have no pressure. Ince wants to solidify his credentials and they have some dangerous individuals as we found out.

Now Fulham have been crowned Champions after this evenings big win v Luton will Silva be giving a few of the fringe players a start on Saturday @ BDTBL to see if he thinks they will be good enough for the PL next season or going in summer.

I'm sure if Fulham win and knock us out of the playoff picture it will be some sort of conspiracy against Sheffield United like 94 and 07

Not necessarily of course - but 94 quite possibly was. Fuck Everton anyway.

Or they could field a full strength squad and want to beat us 10-0 to go out on an even bigger high.

Best possible result for us IMO. They have their title, Mitrovic has his record, Luton's GD is trashed - the three things we wanted from this match (not including wishful thinking about sending offs and non-serious but still temporarily debilitating injuries).
Just posted in a different thread but....there's another record available for them. They need 3 goals to become the highest ever scorers in the 2nd tier 🙈

Agree with this. Couldn’t have gone any better for us.

They had to win tonight to sew up the league, or potentially face a nervy Saturday. To do it at home too will undoubtedly have been a further motivation.

Not saying it’ll be easy for us on Saturday, but last night’s result has made it easier for us, in my opinion.

It's the highest-ever scorers when the 2nd tier was called the First Division or the Championship, but not the Second Division.

The second tier has been called the Second Division for 90% of it's history, so it's not an actual record - it's what we call a 'Sky Sports Fake Record'.

That’s such a nothing record though really, isn’t it?

Ooh we’ve scored the most goals in a division since 2005 or whenever we started again with history.

It’s hardly going on the Fulham honours board is it - that said, not sure how decorated they are as a club, maybe it will
be pride of place in the trophy room (no trophy given....)

Agree with all of this.

Not in response to you, more a general pedantic gripe:

Mitrovic's goalscoring has been phenomenal but the "record" he's supposed to have broken isn't a record and never was.

It's not the second-tier record and it's not the second-tier post-war record either.

At best it's a Championship record, which isn't really a thing.

Some Fulham fans are claiming the record is for a 46 game season. With others scoring more in a shorter season that doesn't stand up either.

It winds me up why things can't be appreciated without turning them into something else.
