Just back from MK and it seemed the only weapon in their locker was to hoof it into the box and try to win the second ball. Seemed to be a totally different style of play for them. I wondered if they had changed their style because of Hill coming in , the state of their pitch or because they'd lost players? In the end Hill dealt with the threat magnificently.

Robinson ❤️️s Hoof?

I think that's all they could do, apart from the last 15 minutes we hounded them all over the pitch.

I made the same remark to my son, everytime they had the ball it went out to the wings and then a cross came in. The back 5 were in tremendous form today

I'm presuming that Davies played well after "The Beard" had to go off injured ??

Yes , Davies was steady defensively but didn't get forward as much as brayford which was understandable.

Posted before..but reckon Robinson was trying to second guess Nigel's counter attack game and didn't have an answer...basically Clough is better tactically..all bodes well for us with Clough!

UTB!

Or they have a 3rd division manager

Thought they'd have more to throw at us to be honest, they usually either cause us more trouble or end up spozzing something.

Another cracking win and professional/hard working performance... think many would have taken a draw before hand.

They're meant to be a passing side too.

It was horrible tbh the last 10 mins. Collins was awesome 10/10 for him

Couldn't agree any more with this thread. MK Dons were a poor team in comparison to what they used to be but I think a good bit of it was down to our game plan, we didn't give them any breathing time to get the ball down on the deck so they resulted to hoof. The only positive being at one poor it became a little uncomfortable as they lofted a good few into the danger zone but we dealt with it all reasonably well. In the past we might well have crumbled but we kept our shape and dealt with everything they lobbed at us.

In answer to the original post, people should go onto the BBC sports website and hear the 5 min interview of Karl Robinson after the game. He lamented the pitch for being crap and has by his own words had to alter how MK play.
Strange really as our goal was pure quality, made by the ever increasing talent of Coady and an enigma called Scougall.
What ever happens this season we should ask L'pool for his talent next season on another loan. He is a credit to himself, his family and his football club and it would be great to see him at the hub of our team next season.

Our approach from open play is to move swiftly up the park forcing the defence on the back foot , the goal from Scougal was a joy of incisive play and the Baxter chance 2nd half nearly a carbon copy , the good news was after the injuries the style remained which augers well

Realistically, Milton Keynes have lost some quality players and need investment to take them to the next stage - however the are still a solid top half league one side and yesterdays performance to get a win was exemplary considering we lost two of our most influential players in the first half.
Izale Mcleod is certainly not the player he was in a previous life at MK and they are obviously missing Bamforth who has moved on to Derby
But if Baxter had scored with that second half chance (should have buried it !) the game would have been over as a contest - but yes, it was a little hairy for the last ten minutes.
Also couldn't understand some Blades leaving with five minutes to go ??? Had they a bus to catch or wanted to get away from the ground early - the mind boggles !!

I also struggle to understand Blades leaving early, we are shocking at home, even in big games when the play is riveting. Watched Sunderland lose at Wembley to man City today and at the final whistle the Sunderland fans were still packed in, whereas ours would be just North of Luton at that time.

Sorry to see Sunlan lose to that bunch of mercenaries today agree their fans deserve a thumbs up.

After this weekends game wouldnt mind Arsenal in the semis , same result as our last encounter possible going on Stokes ability to undermine them, gives us a straw to grasp at
plus weve won as many trophies as them since we last met
