Can I just say I thought he played really well last night. When Fleck went off injured I thought we’d lose the momentum, as he was pressing quite high with aggression and pace.

When CH came on I thought that would go as it’s not his game, but for me he played really well. Getting stuck in and linking with Norwood, think we looked pretty solid then, allowing Berge and MGW the space to push on.

Like many, he had a great game and will be overshadowed by our star performers, but wanted to say thought he played well and is looking a solid option for PH going forward.

We’ll done, keep it up lad.

Good point. To be fair there were a few of them last night. Osborn and Davies did a really good job despite being played out of position and neither having had much football. 3 games to go and then we get a few days off to rest some tired bodies and try to regroup for the final few weeks of the season

I noted this myself. He's an odd player Hourihane, I don't always notice his contributions but he does seem to offer a nice balance to the midfield when he plays. Always an option and moves the ball well. Certainly looks to have more of a license to roam than under SJ.
Moreover, Norwood seems to enjoy that partnership and often plays better when Hourihane's on the park.

He’s an odd one to place at times, as he compliments Norwood but you wouldn’t put him in that role alone.

Last night seemed ideal really, protecting a lead and solidifying the midfield. But then he also gets stuck in when needed 🤷‍♂️

All this about him and Norwood being the same is bollocks, Hourihane is a decent player and has shown it when he's been match fit this season. Lacks pace and the ability to drive forward but he's solid and (generally) tidy in possession.
