Is there an argument for creating an extra division?

One strategy could be to devise a system whereby over the next few seasons, the EPL is reduced to 18 teams, but then the Championship is also restructured to have 18 teams and rebranded as EPL2. This can cascade down through the rest of the leagues with League One, Two and Three all having 20 teams.

To simplify things and save the ridiculous idea of the third tier being named League One, there can be a streamlining of the naming convention with the EPL(1) becoming Division 1, the former Championship/EPL2 becoming Division 2 and so on.

If 5 full divisions is deemed too many, the lowest could be rebranded as the Conference.

Would make alot of sense to many football fans.
Unfortunately the game's run by folk who have little creative integrity and are overly influenced by £££.

The same goes for Bannan's wife, if the chant isn't based on what she said or did. I'm assuming its something sexual for no apparent reason other than because she's a woman.

Unfortunately I think it's just too many football fans who think anything is fair game from the stands under the guise of banter/intimidation etc.

No doubt many will be misogynists away from football but in my experience many separate football from real life and don't see a line.

I remember being near the front of the away end at Ewood Park early 90s. It had been in the press that Bobby Mimms had separated from his wife. A significant part of our following bombarded him with songs about his wife and he looked genuinely upset by it all.

I don't remember them complaining 8/9 years ago about it being financially unfair when they were spaffing millions around on the likes of Jordan Rhodes and the rest.

For 3 seasons the tuna man threw loads of cash at them to get them up to the point where they were breaking FFP . Two failed play off campaigns meant the gamble backfired & the chairmen had to sell the ground to himself to balance the books & create a fictitious sponsor in the name of a none existent taxi company to avoid fines / points deductions .
I can’t think of anybody bleating over here about the fact they had more money at the time !
Our parachute income has been earned on merit & grown from a meagre budget 8 years ago upon promotion.
I’m sure when Rohl fucks off to Southampton at the end of the season he’ll suffer from selective amnesia when questioned about having parachute payments ?

Is anyone actually surprised with how nasty it got?

Our fans are no angels, so I’m not saying it to be holier than thou. But a lot of them lot was baying for blood this weekend, and it seemed like they was hellbent on getting some sort of revenge.

I live in S35 and wanted to watch it in Chapeltown as I couldn’t get a ticket but I’d have not felt comfortable down there watching it with my teenage son in case of one mouthy dickhead Wednesdayite wanting to cause aggro so I went up town.

The stuff that Bannan and Johnson’s wife said on live stream was thick, immature and playing up to the crowd and went beyond what classes as banter. The Evie Wilder stuff is just fucking horrific. That’s a vindictive hate campaign against a young woman. The chucking a banger on a pitch at the United players was even more brainless and could have caused serious injury.

I’ve grown up surrounded by Wednesdayites. I know loads of them who are ok, who I can have the banter with and who I can talk football with. I know there is a few who are proper imbeciles. We’ve got our dickheads too but ultimately it’s just a game. Win and gloat all you want, lose and you have to take your medicine.

I grew up in Shiregreen in the 70's as you well know Zipperdee and all the Pigs were cunts. Disillusioned, gobby twats who were all hard as fuck when they were mob handed. Still the same now mate, and if you'd have gone down Chap they wouldn't have said fucking boo if you'd stood your ground. Don't blame you for going to town though mate, a lot better atmosphere for your lad to relax and laugh at the scum with like minded souls.

One of our players could have got seriously injured and might not have been able to play again cowardly act. I hope they get their shithole of a kop closed down for a while.We get promoted and try and stay in the premier league. so we don't have to play them for a very long time.

Not sure why people keep saying they got lucky with Rohl. All they got lucky with was coming into a Championship that sees half the teams on a par with a non league team. Have you watched many of their games? They're fucking awful, and the signings? I give you Max 'All Time' Lowe as a prime example how poor at player selection he is ffs.

He picked a shockingly bad side yesterday, playing a horrible, predictable and one dimensional excuse for football that was never going to beat us, and never going to stop us beating them so no, he's no tactical genius, in fact he's fucking clueless. Give it a year or two and he'll be plying his trade at Dortmund Diamondbacks or somewhere equally as nondescript because that's his level.

To be fair, the job he did last season, to keep them up from where they were, was impressive. Sure, to an extent, a free hit, as zero expectations, but even so. I'd argue their squad is lower half championship than top half, so again I think that is a success. To get anything at all out of Lowe, at all, is an achievement.

My pig mate admits their squad is poor, more like top half league one, but often his changes in tactics and personnel work during games, especially away from home (Boro & Norwich good examples). They have secured more points from losing positions than any other team.

I am not saying he is the second coming, by lucky, it's more a comment on Chansiri, sooner rather than later he would appoint a manager that wasn't incompetent. I reckon with a better squad (e.g. Boro, Norwich,) he would safely achieve top six, but that is hypothetical.

Where he goes next and how he does, will interest me, only if he is successful, as that would imply the pigs let one get away, which would be sweet.

Regardless, of the above, he got it completely wrong on Sunday (bar the first 10 minutes) and is no doubt furious, embarrassed and bitter, as a consequence, Wilder did him fully. So, yes in this game he was clueless, but I don't think that's reflective of his overall period in charge.
