Being a saddo and having nothing better to do, I looked at our win ratio at the Lane for the last two seasons just gone. Our record is actually better than what I thought, 22 home wins in 44 games, 50% (league games only). Just seems to be worse than that, but figures don't lie. Having said that, when I first started going to the Lane, it was a real shock when we did suffer a home defeat. Now its a shock if we win.

A promotion winning team has to take advantage and win the majority of the home games . 50% is not good enough and only highlights the inconstancy of both last and this season, and how Adkins and Clough are running parallel with each other in not being able to crack the problem . Can you put it down to physical sides and bad reffereeing as mitigating circumstances for this seasons disapointing results at home , and the factor of Adkins still not knowing his best balanced side .

Adkins still believes in automatic , IMO its playoffs with a air of caution , unless we sort out the right winning formula, and to be fair to Adkins , he does have time on his side in this open league , and if anyone can sort it , he can.

Clough took us from bottom to 7th in just over half a season, with long unbeaten streaks, cup runs, as well. The truth is, it can be done, we can get into the automatic spots, but so can others. So it can be done, the question is, will it?

with maguire n murphy, who ain't been replaced.

If we had Maguire and Murphy now we'd be top of the league. Absolutely no doubt about it. But I guess in a combined £3.5m that's a great deal... Much rather that than promotion anyway

If we had Maguire and Murphy we'd be somewhere in the Championship.

Remember when the The Lane was a fortress and even the best struggled to beat us at home. I can take been beaten away but on home soil it hurts...
