If a miracle were to happen and us and Doncaster finished on the same points with the same goal difference are we still down?
I have a funny feeling the next statistic taken into account is goals scored?
Is this right?

Unless in making up the goal difference, we also score 12 goals more than Donny, then the answer is yes.

Quite what happens if they lose both games 1-0 and we win 6-3 and then 6-4 is anyones guess...

We'd go down on head-to-head record. Whether we could argue that the result in Doncaster shouldn't count as we didn't turn up is another matter.

·If two or more Clubs have the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored the highest placed Club shall be determined by the respective League records against each other, taking into account in order of precedence, points gained, goal difference and goals scored. If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs, then the Clubs concerned shall play off a deciding League Match or Matches under arrangements approved by the Board on a neutral ground. These provisions shall determine the ranking of Clubs in their respective Divisions.

Has such a play off situation ever occured in league football before - where teams cannot be separated on points or GD or results head to head?

it will go to the last day, Leicester will win at Donny and we will beat the Dingles

Just as long as the Dingles don't send us dowm, down right care. Oh, I'm such a liar! But I'd rather the Dingles don't get their relegation party on Saturday.

There were lots o' the inbred buggars on RS FH toneet. Most of 'em sayin' they'd like to purrus darn.

I think we will beat the Dingle Dodgers and Leicester will do the Dapper Donny's and we will need a 4 goal swing or summat at Swansea on the last day.
It's at that point the house of cards will finally collapse. The footballing gods will see to it that hope will fly fanciful for a fleeting moment and will be buried again in that empty feeling you get in the pit of your stomach as it all draws to a close.

Yeah but if the rumours about QPR are true (i.e. they'll have a whopping points deduction due to the third party ownership charge) then maybe we can sue the Football League for the 6 goals back they scored against us? As they only beat Doncaster 3-0 and 1-0 respectively (I think) we've already made up a 2 goal difference deficit ;)

Or maybe us, Doncaster and Palace can both sue the Football League for the 6 pts we've each lost to QPR and will overtake Derby who drew both games? Of course I'm being a smarta'se but I'm sure the QPR saga isn't over even after the FA charges announced next week.

We're even knackered if it goes to alphabetical order
