Higdon

Some people have never seen a footballer - or didn't want to see a footballer. Higdon is much better than what we all saw last season.

The fella was unlucky at times last season as well as being poor at others.

Give him a chance under Adkins - same applies to Collins - Always a critic of Collins, hopefully playing on the right side of CH, he may, just may be a better player. Again, give him a chance.

Higdon could and perhaps should be used as a an impact player on for the last 10-15 minutes if we are trailing and need to throw bodies forward.

I don't think any of us really want to see him starting games.

Yes, some nice touches. He's never going to cover much ground but as an impact player he could prove useful.

He looked overweight when he came on, my initial thoughts were "oh no", he's never going to run for a ball but looked useful and won some nice knock downs. He's not going to start matches but will be a useful sub.

Some people are built with a big frame . With the training and fitness coach Higdon should be as fit as a gypsies dog.

Another great option at this level. Can never have too many, especially if you bring them in or don't fall out with them.

Impact player that could get a few goals, not sure he's anymore than that but we can hope.

I did try to tell you! :)

Nice one !!

Suspect that, as many have now said, Higdon will find his backside warming those nice new seats in the dugout for large parts of the season though.

But he now has a decent 25 minutes under his belt so maybe can kick on from here. The extra competition may spur the likes of Hig, McNuts etc. on. You can never have too much firepower.

I think he can.play the same role the Chief did in the 2002/03 season.

That's a good call - thought the same when he came on with Mcnuts. NW did the same with Chief and Pech.

Did not think either of Higdon or mcnuts were lone strikers as NC used them - hence some of the abuse slung at both was unwarranted. As a 2 up top they might flourish.

Strange how a new season brings out the optimism.

Hope he gets the same chance as everyone else. New manager, its amazing what a difference it can make to players.
