Jim's more or less said on Twitter that's it now and onto the loan window.

@Annies_song_ It is not the end of the world and if we need something off the loan market, we'll get it. You must be able to see our intent."

Can't be too critical this windows as they have had the rug pulled out from under them on three strikers for different reasons.

..Its just the three years since we lost Ched that's the disgrace and the gloating and laughing from the pigs we are going to have to face once again until the summer.

The most irritating part of deadline day every year is not the fact that we never seem to be able to sign anyone, it's the whining on here and RS. I would happily listen to/read it if it wasn't for the fact that the vast majority of complainants just want to see any signing....anyone at all. Then there's the extension of that group, a smaller majority who get fixated on one particular player or two.

I would rather us not sign anyone if it's not someone the manager wants. If a club comes in from a higher division and offers silly money beyond the player's worth, what can you do?

My god man! Do stop worrying about what the five fingered think, it's completely futile, change the needle and move on.

People would be much happier had we signed 1 quality striker than: 2 full backs and 2 central midfielders.

Yes, we're happy with the 4, but that doesn't take away from the fact the striker was our priority. Not just in this window, but for the last 6 windows. We all know goals is our biggest problem, so I don't think it's unreasonable to be frustrated if we come out of another transfer lacking a quality striker.
In the words of Chas and Dave "aint no pleasing you"

yeh and that attitude has kept us in the third division with the club saying you can see our intent but no,end product. This is the weakest league we have seen since we dropped like a stone from the PL, next year won't be as easy

We do not need a striker. We need a midfield which consists of players like Reed who are going to break from midfield and create chances. Please let us not sign anyone else who isn't any better than what we have.

By 'that attitude', I assume you mean worrying about what the ladies from S6 think? Not just futile, a cause for concern too......as for your last comment, so you're already resigned to us being in this division next season? I hope not, but if we are I'll still be here, disappointed of course, but we'll have a squad equipped for promotion, because Clough will, by then, have signed the player(s) he feels are worth having. Whether you agree with that is immaterial, as all that matters to me is knowing this club are trying to improve.

Agree itsinyerblood the club are trying to improve but have made some monumental errors as well as some good decisions. We have never won in the playoffs mainly due to the fact that we have not had a recognised striker scoring on a regular basis. Off the top we had Matthews an midfielder upfront against Crystal Palace, BT2 and Ward (sent off after a short substitution) against and Asaba hardly prolific against Wolves. If we attempt to go up via the playoff we need to have an established strike force

I remember all of those episodes, and although I'd love to see someone signed we had confidence in, what we currently have as attacking options, whilst not of the astonishing variety, gives me more hope that we've had for a while. Saturday, with all the changes, pre-match moaning etc, and we still kept a clean sheet and scored against a team who led the division.

Blades 56 , we can turn two different teams out , that for me could both finish in the top 6. The cup runs have shown what we can do in the cup competitions , which will hold us in good stead . The match tomorrow will be a good barometer against another league 1 side , hoping for promotion like us.

We were unlucky against Palace and crap against Wolves in previous playoff finals , but it is all irrelevant and history.

Mr Clough will sort it . I don't go with the crap in Clough we trust , but he sure is the best bloke for the job , since bygone days of Mr Harris , we've not had a strong steady eddy , who knows what he is doing.

Yes we do need a striker , but we ain't doing bad without one.

One will come through the door , even if on loan until the end of the season.

More bothered about keeping the form and pace going until the end of the season.

Not a lot to moan about at the mo.

I don't know what we are worrying about it's not like we have never gone into a play off campaign without any recognised strikers is it .............................. makes you wonder why we never won one dunnit ?

Matty Done has signed from Rochdale, Decent player but of a style and type we all ready have, and if we did scrape up, not Championship standard for that position.

Needed the out and out goalscorer

Left or right sided? I can see Murphy being switched centrally, which wouldn't be a bad shout.

I am pleased with the signings made, but I am also disappointed in the lack of a frontman (at least so far - 22:00 CET). Onwards and upwards

Just who should we sign ?
COG was a done deal until Hughton changed his mind and wants to keep him
Doyle was target No2 hes gone to club a division higher than us (more wages I would presume)
We do need a striker as we all know, but we dont want to be signing one thats no better than what we have

That's our luck we rely on key loan players and then get surprised when the parent club pull the rug from under us. As soon as the manager merry go round started at Brighton I knew we probably would not get COG back.

working on a late bid after missing targets! Yeh same old.

Don't want to start the meltdown but failing to sign a recognised striker and gambling on scottish youngsters to develop is unacceptable from NC, the board and out scouting network.

Still think they had put all their eggs in the Ched basket and that's held us back for 2 seasons by making do or scratching around for developing players or cheap options until they thought they could get him back into the team.

Rant over, hope they prove me wrong but very nature of Jims "late bid" says we are panicking again

I recommend Prozac, or Diazepam for when times when get a little hard
