Boro overtake us within the next 3 weeks, then in the most unsurprising news ever, the Dozy takeover falls through as it quickly becomes apparent that he is a bullshitter without a pot to piss in.
Then left with a squad of players with plenty unsure where their futures lay as they are out of contract at the end of the season with no renewals being made, Sander Berge who clearly wants out as he isn't getting what was promised, and N'Diaye gets a move lined up for the summer, we limp in to the play offs before getting unceremoniously dumped out in the semi-finals.
With the summer arriving and the last remaining parachute payments already in hock to Maquarie Bank, and the Prince unwilling to put any more money in to the club, all the out of contract players can't get away quick enough, and a firesale sees cut price moves away from the Lane for Berge, N'Diaye and Baldock. Hecky gets wind that it the right time to get out before his reputation gets tarnished forever, and goes leaving us with a cheap, unknown manager from the Saudi League.
With the squad dismantled, and replaced with willing but limited youngsters, and a manager unsuited to the English game, we find ourselves meekly capitulating in to a sorry relegation
