Jesus, and people say Monty has the touch of a rapist???

Hendo is a big useless mardy arse.

Monty is a walking talking joke.

Offload both of them as quick as possible.

Not very constructive, but neither are they.

He was poor yesterday, as he was against Scunthorpe. My main complaint with him is more his likelyhood to get sent off which I think is of a more pressing concern than his last two games. He was kicking off yesterday in the second half.

Hendo seems to go through spells of scoring and it's a bit of a dry run for him currently.

Still, if a good offer came in during the summer I wouldn't be surprised nor that devastated to see him go.

Where has this myth come from that he is big? He's not big, he's only 6ft and not particularly stocky. Just because he scraps with with defenders and elbows people all the time doesn't make him a "big man".

Cressy cost lest than half the money and is a much better player!

One thing he isn't is a mardy arse. I've never seen him have a go at his team mates or even be overly critical of the ref, despite the harsh punishment he receives. Although occasionally retaliating to the opposing players is something he needs to stop doing, he's picked up enough silly suspensions.

I think 'offloading' either of those two would be ridiculous, we have to maintain some sort of spine to our squad/team. The only way we should let them go is if we receive a very good offer (for Hendo) or can't afford the wage demands (Monty). Otherwise we should make every effort to retain them.

He's strong, good in the air, holds the ball up well and always tries to be available.

Cresswell contributes a lot in terms of effort, closing down and has exceeded the amount of goals I had expected from him but his overall contribution to the team isn't as great as Henderson's.

He has been terrible in recent matches but don't forget that he did have a good spell earlier in the season where he scored a lot of goals and he is our topscorer this season.

It's a massive shame Henderson got injured during his best form. Around 10 goals in 10 games and then he's out for the next two months. That was a major blow and I'm absolutely certain he'd be pushing 20 goals if it wasn't for his injury. And of course he didn't help himself with that stupid sending off.

i feel hendo is ineffective for us as the foul is nearly all ways against him, even though we all see he is sinned against, with defenders holding, shirt grabbing stopping him from jumping. i much prefer cresswell for his workrate and he puts his head or foot in where others dont, you have to remember rc is getting on now and he seems to lack a bit of pace.he reminds me of king shipperly - always in the right spot

You'll be made up when neither of them of playing for us next year them.

Monty certainly won't be here and we'll get nothing for him.

...and Monty's touch is a lot better than it used to be. People don't like accepting change though (SF? ;)) and somehow see it as having to admit they were wrong. Hendo was in great form, now he isn't. Monty was shit, now he isn't.

HE is obviuosly carrying an injury ,the last two games he has been unable to jump or turn easily

He ,when fit is as good as owt in the league at what he does IE play centre forward

Agree with others Monty is gone in the summer To Barnsley

Monty would never sign for Barnsley. They couldn't even match his current wages, let alone offer him a pay rise and a better chance of promotion.

If he goes, it'll probably be to someone like Middlesbrough. If we do allow him to leave just like that though I'll be very angry.

Always been a Sharpe fan but i susspect even those who were not would swap hendo for our Billy.
Hendo has also been out of our side for TEN games due to red cards over two seasons. Its bad enough having to carry an injured player but to have to carry one with a lack of discipline- its like taking the piss. Do we pay him when he gets sent off?

Good response to an immature assessment of two good pro's.
I can say with some degree of certainty Nick will not be here next season as United refuse to meet his demands which are based (in no particualr order) on his loyalty, his wages being well below several players both now and in the past, his contemporaries such as Jags & Tongey making considerable sums and better salaries by moving on elsewhere. His next contact is his chance to obtain his best one in his career, he owes United nothing and has been a great servant in these days of greed and self importance (regardless of anyone's opinion of his abilities).
He could have moved on several times but is essentially a Yorkshire lad with close family ties so does not want to move far (there is another more poignant reason for this too, but I'll not divulge that)
There is a fat chance he will move into the premiership too as one manager there has such high regard for Monty's 'talents', he is talking to him regularly trying to persaude him to go there (a northern club within striking distance of his Leeds base). We will mourn his loss when he goes, even Pinchy, though he doesn't realise it yet :-)

Hendo has I can assure you been playing with a painful injury which has rewstricted his ability to jump and turn but siuch is his comittment to the cause he's volunteered to play throughout the striker crisis and done himself no favours with his standing with his critics and some of his supporters (and not done his mobility in later life any favours too). However, people see what they want to see and are quick to lambast without thinking anything through. Sometimes I just despair....

I've heard Monty's off to QPR, and I wouldn't be surprised if Henderson leaves in the summer.

I think DH could be a really useful player, if the balls were whipped into the box from the wing, rather than launched to him from our own half.

Thanks for that post LSF.
Seems obvious to us long term season-ticket holders that Henderson is playing injured.
Monty will be a huge loss, particularly to a manager like Blackwell.

I can see Hendo joining QPR. Warnock's mentioned their lack of physical presence up front and has shown interest in him in the past if I'm not mistaken. If he goes there I'm pretty sure that we'll miss him and he'll prove a lot of people wrong. Many seem to suggest that our system is geared round Henderson, but that's not true. Due to his aerial power there's a temptation to hit it long to him, and is being on the end of long balls in crowded areas with little support the right kind of service? No, it isn't. He needs plenty of crosses coming in and good movement around him. It's a shame that we've only done that in certain games.

We get plenty of crosses in, unfortunately hendo's usually miles away from the area. Cresswell's far better at reading balls into the box and, hence, is a more dangerous, effective striker. Hendo's aerial ability is severely hampered by the fact he never looks at the ball.

Henderson seems to be very wary of heading the ball anywhere near on target unless he has a goalscoring opportunity. He looks like he prefers it to chest or feet. Perhaps passing it to his feet more is a strategy we could employ on occasion?

I forgot what game it was this season. Possibly Bristol City at home, but around that time. And all we did was pass the ball into Hendo and his link up play was fantastic. He held the ball up and terrorised the defence by constantly being stronger when the ball was played below chin height.

But people forget when he has a good game as it doesn't suit their own agenda.
