From a QPR fan......

Heard a rumour that Henderson is signing for QPR for £1.2m.

IMO.. I'd take that. Evans, Ward, Sharp, Cresswell (maybe Camara).

Get shut and buy us a defence/midfield

£2 million and it's a deal. What about chucking in Evans free?

As for bringing in midfielders...Darren Ambrose, anybody?

It was in The People.

I reckon we could get £2m for him, we should do. And if we do, use it on a good centre half and on extending Monty and Naysmith's contracts.

I'd let them have him for £2.

Get him off the wage bill and get a striker in the is bothered about more than just wrestling with their centre half and whinging to the ref.

Yes, get rid of someone (for £2) who scores goals and let's keep the goal machines Sharp and Evans.

Saying that I would probably take £2m for him if we invested the money well. Which we probably wouldn't.

i'd take that bring in Bogdanovic (sp) tie up deals with Monty and Naysmith also look at the likes of Youl Mawene (preston) Danny Butterfield (palace)

Fantastic news if true. One of the 3 bags of shite I want out of BDTBL asap, quickly followed by Monty and KB.

I personally like Hendo but I would take £1.5m for him to reinvest. I don't think we would need to bring a striker in to replace him as Cressy and Ched can do his job in a different way. I would take the money and put it into other areas. Cresswell, Evans, Sharp and Ward would be enough going into next season. If there was money aside an extra forward would be a nice luxury but not a necessity IMO.

I cash in on Hendo, we've got Cresswell who is seemingly doing what Hendo does at the moment. He also isn't as injury prone and he doesn't seem to have the tendency to foul everyone constantly.

We'll need more than three strikers.

We'll need more than three strikers.

I named 4. Cresswell, Evans, Sharp and Ward. I feel 4 is the perfect number. To supplement this we should bring one out of the academy as a 5th striker. This will allow us to;

A) Give a youngster proper experience and give him a realistic chance of developing into a senior player
B) Not have a 5th striker rotting in our reserves on generous wages

The other alternative (in the event of injuries) dare I say it is a short term loan. I dont feel we need any more than 4 and Jamie Ward is a striker in my eyes, as well as he's done on the wing at times.

I said three because at this level Jamie Ward is just not a striker. He looks twice the player out wide. He doesn't see enough of the ball up front, he's poor with his back to goal and simply hasn't played well enough or scored enough goals when he's played there.

For me we need at least 4 strikers with Ward to play there only in the event of a bad injury crisis.

Some would argue strongly with you about Jamie Ward. To be honest I think he plays both positions quite well. I do however prefer him as a striker and if United have to make him play with his back to goal then they simply arent using him in the right way. He needs to play as a second striker, coming off the centre forward to pick up the ball and run at centre halves.

There are a number of people on here who bemoan his deployment on the wing. He's useful as a versatile player IMO but I would be happy to include him as a fourth striker.

We've tried to use him in that way but there's just not as much space for him to exploit when he's up front. He'll find himself surrounded by defenders and when you're as small as he is playing up front you've got to be clever and have good awareness of what's around you and I think that's where he falls short (no pun intended) at times. He's played his best football on the wing but has been interrupted far too much by his dodgy hamstrings.

No one seems to be taking into account the fact that Sharp is unlikely to play for the club whilst Blackwell is in charge. Also people are ignoring Blackwells hurrendous negative tactics and hoofball. It makes players like Sharp and Evans look inept when the ball is pumped up to them at head height for 90 minutes.

However i'd snatch there hand off for this offer. Henderson just hasn't lived up to the grade. (As Iggie and 257 pointed out) the money could be used for tying up more valuable players contracts. Naysmith and Monty offer a lot more to the team than Henderson does.

I actually don't mind Henderson. He works hard and can be a real threat. I'm sure defnders dread playing against him becuase of his physical threat. however his ill discipline and injury record have cost us at times. I also think he encourages hoof ball. Not only that but I think in Sharp (although i'm sure he'll leave), Evans and Ward we have better footballers. if we play the right kind of football with these guys we'd be more successful than hoofing it to big Darius.

Henderson is most effective when we play football, get it wide and get crosses into the box. Too much this season he's just had to battle to try and flick it on or hold it up, and when he's up against 6"3 CBs he's not going to be able to win much. If we had played to his strengths a bit more he'd have got more than 12 this season, which is still a good return to say he's been carrying an injury for a month or two now.

Evans generally looks inept and has not been good enough so far, nothing to do with the football we play. Cresswell and Henderson have both got into double figures with poor service. When Ched dribbles shots wide from 30 yards, constantly falls over, can't control a ball, is wasteful with finishing and gets knocked off the ball then i think it's just as much down to him than it is the tactics. Too easy to blame his uselessness on the style of play.

Henderson's ill discipline also cost him. He could be a real asset. However that's if he can stay fit and concentrate on his game. He fails both miserably. His ill discpilne results in him being suspended and giving away a ridiculous amount of fouls. Still I agree he is best when we play it on the deck. It's not his fault we adjust our style of play when he plays but we do.

Ched has been very disappointing. Simple as. However I think that he has showed flashes of what he is capable of. don't get me wrong, there is no excuse for how poor he has been, but I'd stick with him. He started to forge a decent looking partnership with Cresswell in January, but KB fucked it up by dropping him for Henderson. Evans has looked like he is very low on confidence and badly needed to score. I think if he'd have scored (around Jan time) he would have gone onto to get another 10 (I remember thinking that at the time). He was close to scoring and I remember him hitting the woodwork several times. All in all he hasn't been good enough and I'm not making excuses for him. However he shouldn't be ruled out for next year. He scored a cracker against Ipswich and with a bit of confidence from a few pre season goals then he could do well next season.

If they sell off Hendo they need to replace him ,you can't rely on Ward playing many games again next season he has fragile hamstrings which never heal.

Bogdanovic on a free. Players who is as good, not as much of a crock and we make £1.2 million out of it. No brainer.

Henderson's not as bad as many make out, but for two million quid I'd take their hand off at the shoulder. Get Bernie's chequebook out Neil.

I don't dislike Henderson, but i'd let him go for 1 Million plus.

Personally I don't think we play to our strengths when we play Hendo, which is odd as he's not a bad footballer, we just seem to lump it to him which rarely works, especially when he seems to get stuck into battles with centre halves.

The thing I don't like about Hendo's game is his discipline, although sometimes his reputation preceeds him. He's not a dirty player but too many refs see him as overly physical.

If we're keeping Blackie (which looks likely) then we need to build around the players that we can play a more versatile brand of football with Cresswell, Evans and Ward... Obviously many will argue that Evans doesn't get enough goals, but I think playing with Cresswell he may well get a lot more.

overpriced overrated, how much does that work out per goal over a season, not his 'hold up play' he's employed purely to score goals, BT replacement my arse!

if its true he's on 14k with us then id like to see him sold & Hooper brought in from Scunthorpe.

That's yet more lazy recycled journalism from The Star. No quotes or anything in that article about Henderson and I can't see him being on 14k a week.

His goals to starts ratio for us in 2 season is about 1 in 3 which isn't bad to say he's been carrying a few injuries over time. It's bizarre that people are so desperate for us to get rid of him, he was our joint top scorer in the league last season! I bet most teams in the Championship would gladly have him, nobody likes playing against him and his goalscoring record is good.

Quite like Hendo, but his wages, potential value and lack of temper control mean that I'd sell him.

Not sure about that. Stick any big, strong decent centre half aginst him and it's over. Tell the centre half to pull his shirt, give him a few kicks and tussle aginst him. henderson will get involved in a tug of war and forget about the football match. The centre half will win all the fouls (no matter what) and Henderson will do fuck all. The ball will be lumped endlessly to big Darius with no joy whatsoever. Plan B? You joking. He'll get frustrated and maybe sent off. This is all presuming that he is not injured or suspended. Top notch.
