Player Suggestion Helder Costa

Whenever I've seen him play for Leeds he hasn't exactly set the world alight. Always looked like the worst player on the pitch for them. Although he would instantly become our best winger.

He had a couple of spirts of form in the Leeds promotion season but I tend to agree.

Not sure it's value for money but then again he's better than the zero wingers we currently have on our books!

I don't for one second think that he'd come to us.

Think we dodged a bad one there missus supports Leeds and she didnt rate him one of my other mates who is a Leeds fan didn't rate him either. He can't cross for toffee and hangs onto the ball to long. What am I saying he would fit right in at the moment. 😀

Chatting to my lasses dad last night on his current situation:
  • Come back to Leeds after a loan spell in Saudi Pro League (18 games, 3 goals, 1 assist - albeit not exactly a competitive league last season).
  • Daniel Farke had a private conversation with about his future, Costa expressed a desire to leave Leeds.
  • Different scenario to Gnonto who publicly said he wanted to go to Everton and is now in a shitstorm.
  • Costa expressing his desire to leave privately though has also led to him facing similar internal decisions in the way of training separately from the main team.
  • Costa wants out, Leeds want him out, 1 year remaining on his contract.
If, and only if, we get to the end of the transfer window and other loans don't come off, it won't be the best but also not the worst back-up loan on deadline day. Can't confirm 100% but I'm told he's on about 32k a week so if we covered 40% of that, we're talking around 12.8k a week.

He's 29 now, it's a big step up, and Al Ittihad obviously didn't see any reason to sign him for a TransferMrkt value of 3.2m. That said, Saudi clubs are just going for bigger names to attract world coverage in terms of signing Benzema, Fabinho, N'Golo Kante, Jota etc. But if we could get him cheap as a last minute loan, he could be decent enough coverage for Slimane or possibly play up front.

Fully aware we obviously want younger and ideally familiar loans who go straight into the first 11 at the end of the window. This is just a suggestion based on things seriously f*king up with loans come deadline day.

If Saudis dont think he’s worth it that’s a pretty low bar.

22 matches, 3 goals and 3 assists in Leeds Premier League campaign of 20/21. Few years ago but I still don't think it would be the worst last minute loan deal back-up if other targets fail by deadline day 🤷‍♂️
