I would still replace hecky with a premier league level manager in the summer

It’s not a troll it’s just a sensible opinion of a fan who wants us to spend 5/10 years in the Prem

But this is a very different narrative to the one being peddled for months. It's all been about Becky out, manager X in now.

Why am I even replying? It makes me as sad as you.

Gun. Head. Fire.

As far as I'm concerned,
If we get promoted he stays,
If we get relegated next season he stays.
Until that contact runs out or if things naturally end then I ain't falling for it anymore, asking for someone else's job.

I think football has got to that point now where constantly sacking managers just isn't really funny anymore (or has it ever?). It's a norm and that's worrying. It's not like he is going to be here forever anyway, so just put up with it and let the man do his job. Until the club say otherwise.

Granted Heckingbottom isn't blessed with tactical prowess, the most die hard fans can also see this. But so? He's churning out results and he has that passion like so many of our best managers of the modern era had and gets the best out of players mainly through psychology and emotion.

If we get promoted then Hecky will by default be a Premier League manager, so you’ll get your wish.

McCabe would have sacked him a few weeks ago and installed Morgan.

If Dozy has anything about him, he'll go and get Wigan's number 2 Rob Kelly.

So we have a manager, love him or loath him, who looks to have got us promoted with all the back room bollocks of this season. We should at least be saying “well done, you deserve a bit of loyalty, go and keep us up for a good few years” But no our deluded fans say gerrim aaaht. No wonder players show the same loyalty as the fuck off mentality of our fans.
And yes, we have gained enough points to avoid relegation this year.

Disagree. If Hecky seals promotion then the club is indebted to him given the financial problems and absolutely diabolical shitstorm behind the scenes.

In fact he has probably saved the club from huge embarrassment as our league position has taken the heat off from the shit goings on.

Seriously.. How fuckin mashed do you have to be..... Go home... Order a takeaway... Have a wank.... Shoot next doors cat... Lick tarmac.. Electrocute yerself... Wear a gimp suit... Bob for apples....

No one is indebted to anyone we aren’t to hecky and he isn’t too us

There is zero loyalty in football absoloutely zero

If we were 5th and Leicester offered him the job do you reckon he’d say no ?

Manager puts up with:
Club that is in a transfer embargo
Not allowed to replace player he’s lost in January
Club been up for sale over past 18 months
Not allowed to bring in any more staff
1x cash permanent signing in 2 1/2 seasons
No under soil heating at training ground
Numerous injuries

Managers performance:
Nearly takes them up the first year from being in the bottom half
Fa cup semi final
Wins promotion the second season.

We should sack him.

You forgot to say that the money for the upgrade to the training pitch came out of the playing budget. That cost a new signing or the wages of a loan player. But hey ho, let’s sack him, but who do you get to replace him? He’s not likely to be in great wages, and as it stands, who of any calibre will come to this shit show?

There’s literally nobody available. What even is a Premiership manager?

The list would consist of names who were failed managers somewhere else.

It’s just attention seeking posters.

The catalogue of problems he's had to endure would have buried most managers.
But he's soldiered on.
I've criticised him on certain issues but overall he's proved his worth.
Cast your mind back to Autumn 2021 and that nightmare press conference after the prince had effectively walked out on the club , leaving Hecky and us with virtually no expectations of success.
To achieve what he has since then , against that kind of scenario , is quite simply heroic.
His big test will come if we do go up , having to form a squad for the PL from very little in terms of injury-resilient quality contracted players.
His task would be much harder than Wilder's in 2019.
But his recruitment of Anel & the two City lads has proved top drawer , as they've developed very well under him.
Which of the expensive players Wilder signed after reaching the PL actually developed into better than what they were on arrival ?
Brewster ? McBurnie ? Mousset ? Freeman ? Calum Robinson ? Berge ? Osborne ? Ollie Burke ?
We made a profit on Ramsdale but he was actually quite poor for us.
Hecky might not get the 9th place achieved by Wilder when we had a fit JoC and a system which surprised the PL , but he would be unlikely to do worse than Wilder at recruitment.
