I don't have an concerns if the club employ him again as a coach, working with the U18 & U23 levels.

So you don't think he could successfully manage the club in the Championship? I'm not saying the club should re-hire him, under better circumstances I'd move away from both PH and Wilder.

Weird one isn't it looking back, 100% the right decision to sack him given the players had stopped playing for him but at the same time he was totally not at fault for the shit show that is this season.
I'd love to have him back at the club in some capacity to steer the club through the next few years - not as manager/coach but as a DoF type. Not that it will happen under this ownership, we don't seem to want to go down the coach/DoF structure.

Me too but I don’t think we’d pay the wage. This is only the view of a message board dweller, but I don’t have much faith in our football strategy. A club the goes Wilder > Jokanovic > Hecky isn’t one that appears to know its method.
If anyone could point all aspects of the club in one direction and bring continuity across managerial appointments, I’d back Hecky. Tell him our resources, let him define strategy and oversee the operation.

You'd trust the guy who had no contingency plan for Ndiaye leaving? The man who wanted to resign Sharp and as actually resigned Fleck? The man who bought Slimane, Traore, Laroucci and Luke Thomas were what we needed in the PL?
Look, Hecky is a nice guy and did unbelievably well last season, but Jees he didn't half shit down his leg when we get invited to the big dance!
Final point - his playing Sharp last season instead of giving those minutes to Osula/Jebbison show he isn't the man to have the responsibility for long term decisions at the club...

There's zero chance PH had ever seen Slimane, Traore or Larouci. Luke Thomas was a poor one bit it was last gasp trying to cover for how poor Larouci is.

That makes it even worse!
If his judgment of players isn't great, his judgment of who he can trust to judge players is even worse.
I just can't get behind the notion that this last summer was anything other than possibly the worst preparation any team/club has had in any sport in any major league - and Hecky was in charge of this epic cluster fuck.

That's not how it works at United. UW have run everything since Wilder part 1. How on earth would a man running the full football side of a club like PH was have time to find obscure players in Scandinavia?
Part of Wilder coming back is him agreeing to do as he's told around things like playing younger players and signings

However, everything I've seen recently is that we're the only club in the top leagues of Europe who rely on one person/one single point of failure for pretty much every footballing decision. It's why we've let the last 3 managers have 4 or 5 games too many when they should have been sacked a month earlier...
If what you're saying is true, it's even worse, because surely Hecky takes one look at Traore and says, no more players I've not approved.... For him to look at Troare and say, more like that please is bat shit crazy... As was his assertion that he wanted to resign Sharp....

Slimane, Traore or Larouci are the same as Retsos and Zivkovic. None were Hecky or Wilder signings but both had to agree to them coming over because they'd been scouted by people we are paying money to.
For what its worth, Darren Smith on twitter said our signings are made by a committee. I doubt this is on every deal but I certainly think it will be true on the unknowns from abroad.

Entrusting the medium/long term strategic direction of the club to a man whose medium/long term plan was to hope Ndiaye stayed and didn't get injured, whilst offering a contract to Billy Sharp - isn't what I say other clubs doing in 2024....

You speak as though he had multiple options to choose from and picked the one that included signing youngsters from Scandinavia to replace our best, most proven players.
If I believed what you seem to, I'd want him lynched.

It was part of his job description to have options. Whether they be bringing in new players, changing the formation/tactics and/or making us he fittest, organised team possible.
Appears to me, we did none of those...

There was always the risk of Ndiaye and Berge going even in the previous transfer window. Hecky didn't seem to have a plan in place for either of them leaving and he had long enough to plan for it especially since he knew both players were always unlikely to renew their deals. Also, when I say he didn't have a plan in place for them leaving I also mean tactically, as his main tactic last season was to get Ndiaye on the ball.
Some blame on the ownership for sure due to lack of funds and some of the wankers involved trying to buy us which clearly hinders long term planning at the club. Although we still went and signed a lot of players in the summer for a varied amount of money minus Archer. Hecky will have had a say in those transfers and who he wanted. People talk as if Hecky had zero say on most things which I don't believe at all.
He never got on top of the injury issues and that screwed him even more to the point it could have cost us promotion and the reason we have ended up with a half dozen left backs at the club. Which wasted a domestic loan slot in the process.
Hecky did well to steady the ship under a lot of nonsense going on at board level BUT he contributed massively to his own downfall. As a lot of the issues at board level he knew about when he took the job on.
