Neither Grandison or Wilson will come in as first choice centre halves. Wilder will still want a left footed centre back in addition to those two and McFadzean.

It could well be a case of Grandison or Wilson, because both can play right back as well as centre back.

Let's face it, we're fucked aren't we?

The years and years of mistakes have finally caught up with us and now the owners have turned us into a mid table league club. fucking sickening.
Essentially this is it. We need centre halves whoever they are in right away to prevent us ending up relegation fodder.

Who were you expecting? Some young kid from L2 who might be the next Kompany but could be the next Collins and could take a year to step up?
Some old fucker from the championship looking for a last pay off?

It's underwhelming if true but not unexpected, we were warned about these next two transfer windows.

Next season is one where we are going to have to be satisfied with stability, anything above that such as a challenge for a play off spot will be a bonus.

Oh well if we were warned then sure that's fine. A bit like if someone warn's you that they're about to steal your wallet and punch you in the face.

Wilder's going to get a big shock if he thinks those are the types of players that are going to get us promoted.

Although it all points to the owners providing a terrible budget, and we're just doing it on the cheap.

How many different ways to fuck things up can one club manage?

I have no idea, but im sure you will take great pleasure in trying to tell us, daily.

Yeah what would he know? it's not like he has just got a team promoted on an even smaller budget than this one; or like he managed to motivate a team before that who weren't getting paid for 3 months.

Coming round here acting like a football manager, he can sling his hook as far as I am concerned!

Honestly.....I don't believe it's Wilders remit to get us up this season.
They won't admit it at the club, but I suspect he's made it clear that promotion is not attainable with the current policy, and that they need to accept a gradual improvement.

How many here would be happy to see attacking football, a set system of play we stick to and a steady improvement over the season to a mid table finish?
I foresee a poor start, and I hope Wilder is able to produce the improvement that the board are looking for to trust him with next season and hopefully a few more additions to give us a better chance of making the play offs.

Well, if the runours are true (and as has been said, his legs are not shot), Leon Clarke added to (proven top five goal scorer in our league) Billy Sharp, Che Adams and (played up front somewhere) Matt Done, we have every chance of scoring goals, and if the back four can shut up shop, we might not be half as bad as we were last season.

I'm sure we'll find a few more.

That Leon Clarke has always been a thorn in our side .him fazza ,Wilson teams arnt going to take the piss in the tunnel .

As with any signing, I'll wait until they step onto the fucking playing field before I praise or berate them, give the blokes a chance eh?

Oh....and Sunny boy, stop fucking about with all these defenders names, I have already plumped for the Wilson tattoo. ;)

Northamptons best centre (Rod McDonald) was signed from Telford after moving round other non league clubs for a few years. Let's try and trust the managers judgement who has just built a team that pissed the league below us at a canter eh?
