STEVEN Pye has become the first person to reserve his Sheffield United season ticket for the 2009/10 campaign.
The 39-year-old took advantage of the club's decision to cut renewal prices by visiting Bramall Lane within minutes of the offer being announced.
Steven, a driving instructor from Woodthorpe and supporter for more than 30 years, attends games with his sons, Joe, aged 12, and Richard, 14.
He said: "It's great they are bringing prices down rather than increasing them like some clubs.
"A driving lesson was cancelled on Tuesday morning so I headed to Bramall Lane. I thought I might be one of the first to renew as I got to the ticket office as soon as it opened."
An adult season ticket for the Frasers Properties Kop is now available for £279, an overall saving of £80 based on those ticket-holders who bought at the non-discounted rate this season.
Under-13s receive a free season ticket if they enroll as a Junior Blade for £10 and are accompanied to matches by an adult holder.
Anyone renewing their season ticket before next month's deadline will also receive a free replica shirt to mark United's 120th anniversary.
The name of every player to represent the club has been woven into the jersey.
