What I’d do

In:
Up and coming CB maybe Hill
Up and coming CM maybe Coulibally
Jebbison back if mcburnie leaves
Best available loanee at any position
Out:
Burke
Mousset
Slater (unless we offer him a new deal)
Hourihane
Olsen
Guediora (released)
Mcburnie (has to be moved now from a contract point of view)

Apart from Burke leaving I'd be reasonably happy with nothing happening. We have a bigger squad than most and we are going to need it as soon we will be playing 2 games a week for the rest of the season.

I'd.only.offload the likes of McBurnie or Moose if we can get reasonable money as we are going to need them at some point with injuries and suspensions. The sides that end up going up will be the ones with the deepest squads.

Centre back is the one.place we do need to strengthen but I'm not holding my breath
Slater could go, no real loss to us at present.
Burke, Moose, Freeman, all can go without affecting anything.
Young Hill in would be great, maybe another CB as cover as we dont currently have any cover for Egan or Bash, and Davies isnt available for whatever reason?
Hopefully the youth can step up, but we need to keep pushing for the top 6, 3 games in hand may help, but not playing for a month could also hinder us.

Theres also the Berge to Toon rumours that we need to consider....a player or 2 in PX might be a shout??

Hourihane's started turning in pretty decent performances under Heck. Starting to get forward more and put his foot in a bit. Considering our options there (Fleck - struggling with health / fitness) he's definitley not somebody I'd be looking to move out.

You say that but what if we have 6nout with covid? I'd.keep Moose as weve seen what hes capable.of at Barnsley. We wont get anything for him and hes a threat off the bench if needed.

Re Davies wonder what this 'personal reason' is, although we habent played hes not.been available.for.a few games now

I see Ben Brereton Díaz’s contract expires in June and he’s 23 in April so he could be off for nothing.

Tough call for Blackburn if offers of a above 10m come in.

Imagine him leaving and them seeing Burke as the replacement. Maybe Mowbray has a soft spot for him as an ex-Hoop.
DMail said that Mowbray was looking for £30m for Brereton Diaz - or rather Mowbray said he wouldn’t stand in his way if they got an offer around that mark. They paid £6m to buy him from Forest 2+ years ago…and I think he scored only 1 goal in his first 2 seasons and then he’s become a star striker since he got picked for Chile and suddenly became a confident striker. So there’s hope for Brewster yet - just need England to pick him…

He’s been better of late but I think he’s just looked like an average championship midfielder and I’m sure he’s being paid to be a lot better than that. If we are skint it’s certainly somewhere we could get cheaper without losing much quality.

There’s pretty much only woodman that might be available that id take the rest are all a bit meh.

True, he's not shown himself to be that differentiator. Just a question of who comes in. You could say Freeman, but whenever things open up for him, he gets injured.

Player in last season of contract suddenly hits form

Amazing how often that happens ,personally don't think he is premier league standard just an above average striker in a piss poor league having a purple patch
Some prem team will sign him up for free and he will be loaned back out to Preston or some such within a year

But weve also seen what Mcburnie is capable of, and Sharp, Didzy, Ndiaye, Jebbison.
Unfortunately for Moose, he just doesn't seem to care, I dont see as he has a future at the club, also, his contract is up in the summer, so any kind of price we could get, would be a bonus.

Based on what they've shown they're capable of, Mousset is miles better than McBurnie and despite his legendary lack of fitness he's probably available about as often.

If he's on absurd wages or we get an offer of good money for him that's fair enough, otherwise there's no real reason to be pushing him out of the door.

I always thought it was Colin Hill. I remember him but no Matt Hill.

Seen more than one happy with Hourihane going. Considering his time under PH previously, combined with the fact we never know when John is gonna send his brother Jimmy for a run out - he’s a must keep for me. His poor spell was under Slav who usually played him as a direct replacement for Norwood, which didn’t suit him one bit.

Apart from the facts, hes never fit, he never plays, and now there are atleast 4 players ahead of him in the order, oh, and hes out of contract in a few months.....
There is absolutely no point in him being here and taking a wage every week.
The money could be better spent elsewhere.

I’d forgotten Freeman was still here stick him on the out list pronto. I like O’Riley at MK Dons as a player from the league below.

Which one? I wouldn’t be particularly enthused with either both made decent debuts and then have faded.
The younger, Matty.
Still very young, seems to fit with what Hecky is trying to achieve, and I dont think hes had the chance really?
Has played at prem level, surely with a bit of guidance he could be a championship player with room to grow??

Both of the longstaff brothers have contracts which expire this year. Newcastle may have a years option but cannot see them costing much. Having said that not sure that they are the type that we really need and are they that much better than Slater?

I think he could be a championship player but he’d be much more of a gamble. How much would you knock off Berge’s price for him? For me he’s probably worth around a million.

Agreed.

We dont really know, but Slater is getting attention, as Is Berge, so we have to look at different outcomes of any ins/outs?

Think that may be a different lady of the same name. No matter who it is it is tragic.
