Can you give me a reminder of my comment and the post I was replying to for context, since you're not going to let it go and are getting snidey about it. I don't quite know what your point is.

If you're talking about Wit, or whatever he's called, I have never given anything he's said the time of day. I wouldn't trust anything he says to be true and don't understand why Wilder never told him to button it. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. And no, I don't consider his Twitter comments to be Wilder's press conference.

I think you must be mixing me up with someone else. Easily done. You won't find anything but a balanced appraisal in my posts. You're putting far too much stock in Twitter comments from Wit, who for all we know doesn't know anything. His tweets have the weight of a marshmallow regardless. Former senior management figures and the c
owners friends on the other hand. Not to mention the owner himself.

I think it’s quite widely known that Chris Wilder is a huge fan of money. Nothing wrong with that. The issue I do have is wanting a payoff of £4 million for pissing off into the sunset of his own free will. I agree. But he actually looked fed up and not his normal self for most of the season. Maybe even depressed?

Say he is a true proper Blade like I think he is. (I’ve seen the photos of him being in the crowd cheering us on.) If I was a United fan and the manager, and we were losing every week, I think it would actually run me down and make me feel ill too. I’d want United to do well, just like Chris did. How would it feel talking to your mates, with you being rock bottom of the league with no wins. Especially after what happened the previous season.
I’d be embarrassed, ashamed, feel guilty.

I’d be doing my best every week to help us turn the corner. Just like Chris tried to. But it wasn’t working.

The injuries. Hendo going. New signings not improving the team. No fans in the ground. Everything conspired against him.

But would I want a big pay off to resign?
I think I’d just resign. In the knowledge that I’d successfully managed my club.
Maybe he got some bad advice on what to do.

We will miss him for sure. But we need to move on.

Absolutely, we need to move on. I’m now hoping for Jokanovic as manager. I think he would give us something we’ve not really had, a dynamic continental manager with different ideas who would also be looking at the world market not just the UK for talent. The Bundesliga is a great league with real talents, we’ve got to widen our search. I am optimistic for the future but the next appointment is crucial. Whoever it may be though will get my full support.

In my time following the blades (I am 46) the wilder years have been the ones I have enjoyed the most. I really wanted Wilder to manage us for the next few years at least but having listened to the interview by Prince Abdullah I am really struggling to disagree with anything he is saying.

I’m exactly the same. i’ll always be massively restful to CW....he’ll always be a club legend
but the quote from the Prince that brought it home was when he said

he’s spent 120 million on new players but in some games CW was playing most of the same players that came up from the Championship.
To be honest I did find it bizarre that all CW’s big money signings were often on the subs bench.
Even though CW is a hero it doesn’t mean he’s exempt from criticism.

I’d expect the Prince has had his lawyers advice over what he can say and can’t help thinking it’s really just a reply to statements put out there by CW’s mate, who doesn’t seem to be reigned in whatsoever. We’ve seen how aggressive the Princes lawyers can be so aren’t likely to be overly worried legally by the comments of an ageing hoooligan. This puts a mark against Wilders football character as a quitter. Tit for tat or genuine desire to get the story out? Who knows, but it’s not done CW any good. If he has legal redress, good luck to him, if not, shut his mates up and get on with life.

Excellent point.
If we all accept that CW is a true Blade then he‘s been suffering badly this season.....probably loads of sleepless nights making him ill.
Remember how he used to say that he loves going to the pub to unwind with his long term mates.
He said they’re all Unitedites and they give him feedback and have a laugh. It was clearly massively important to him.....but covid shut down the pubs.

In the last 2 seasons Wilder is a genuine candidate for being Uniteds best ever manager.
This season it’s the total opposition....he’s breaking records for all the wrong reasons.

He’ll have spoken to his family and they’ve decided to quit before this job seriously effects his health.
When a manager is losing every week...they normally get put out of their misery and get the sack.

Think Wilder realised he wasn’t getting the sack and felt trapped and slightly embarrassed.
Don’t think anyone can be too harsh on CW or PA.

A question for all those claiming the Prince is honest and genuine. How honest and genuine do you feel it was to secretly move shares into a newly formed paper company just to avoid a clause in a contract that he had previously signed in good faith? (And which was subsequently ruled to have been wrong in court)

I am not saying this should be the only measure that we should guage the Prince by, or necessarily use it as a stick to beat him with at every occasion, but surely it's a gentle warning to everyone to be a little wary?

As far as characters went the judge was much more damning of McCabe. As I said in my first post, there's only so much you can or should ever trust anyone, and I rank very wealthy businessman high on the list of people who might screw you over. I don't think anyone should take a firm side on the basis of one interview from a chairman but at the same time there wasn't much in that interview that I could pick out as a red flag. I have my scepticism over all this training ground talk and suspect someone's dropped a bollock there, and I suspect some of the pressure placed on Wilder to change won't have been as gentle as the Prince would like us to imagine. Still, every time I hear the Prince talk he comes across as genuine and when he talks about long-term planning there's nothing in there that I don't want to hear. He's right we needed to address recruitment, he's on the nose about having broader targets for better negotiation (we've had a few times where we've chased one player for seemingly ages), widening the net rather than playing in Europe, not overhauling the side. And let's be fair, this is the most open interview I've ever heard from a United owner (honesty still in question).

I'm of the opinion that you'll never know how good a chairman is until they're out of the club and even then the full truth will likely never come out. For now the Prince is saying the right things and has given us as fans a level of clarity we weren't expecting. Whether the right actions follow is something to talk about in the future.
