Ex Mansfield.. Didn't settle. Starts well but goes off. Went from Mansfield to Hartlepool when could't be consistent and seems like he wanted to "go home". Time to grow up kid or forget the big time. Seems another CW gamble. Talented, but hard work, guts, maturity and application needed. Luckily this type of gamble only costs us transfer wise 300k.

I think he'll be a great signing for us. Sounds like he wasn't fully fit in the latter half of last season but he's got all summer now to work on that and there's no doubting the lads motivation.

Another typical Wilder recruit. Great attitude and comes here looking to step up in his career rather than stepping down. Perfect!

Here's me doing Roygbiv job with a view from Middlesboro

Seen the lad play few times, bags of potential and can cross. I'm happy to sign him.

I have seen this lad twice this year and if this is the standard we are looking at my heart sinks. Mark Yeates mk2.
Pretty underwhelming start to the summer transfer thread

didnt think much of this potential signing until i saw this goal...

( Doyle in there too)

Don't know much about Nathan Thomas, however my mate who supports Newcastle but watches a lot of Hartlepool games raves a lot about this lad saying he's probably the best in League 2.
Interesting reading. With signings like this I'm happy if its a percentage game of buy half a dozen younger up and coming players at bargain prices and hope a couple come good, move the others on soon after when you can. No long term contracts initially. Worked well in the Deane and Agana era and better than buying too many has beens on their way down from higher leagues. Tell them they have 48 hours to decide or the opportunity is gone.

Love his interview he comes across really well, bought into what we are about, if his attitude is anythingbto go by he will be a bonus!

My summary of that is

The kid has obvious talent and the ability to play a big part for us next season.

And all of the negatives are nothing that CW can't straighten out

Nathan sounds well-grounded, personable and articulate in that interview. Welcome to Bramall Lane!

Surprised Nathan Thomas didnt go to middlesborough so he didnt have to relocate. the attidude comment worries me
But alot like many players arrived last few yrs. Ill have to judge on the pitch because when we signed oconnell, ebanks landell, done, adams, wright, lavery etc & i knew about as much about them As thomas now

It usually the ones with prior repuation to worry about mceveley & hammond

Sounds like a good signing with wilders kick up the @rse would be a great one, if teams were in for him for around a million in january hes gotta be decent.

Could be a flick of a coin with this kid , I know one thing for sure if he lacks attitude & application it'll be a short BL career under Wilder !
