Looking forward to watching him now, sort of player to excite the fans, new hero? Hope so, by the way Royston I told you to go and take a holiday, get away from it all, I suppose its being a professional well done.

Did his best mate have a role at Crewe?
? Micky Dolenz ?

It's always a bit of a risk with young wingers. Even with established players in that position, a fair amount of what they should be trying to do on the pitch won't work out. Being a winger is all about taking risks. It's not quite the same for, eg, a sitting midfielder or a centre half. I'll apologise for the stickball reference (out of respect for most on here, tho with gritted teeth) but it's a bit like being a young leg-spinner. You can look a genius one minute, and completely hopeless the next. You need courage, and a thick skin.

Good luck, young man. I hope you make us proud :)

What's Jeff say?

Unbelievable !!

As an older git, I still miss the days when any statement about anything remotely football had to have the word "Brian" tacked on the end. I still use it, but hardly anyone knows what I mean anymore.

So ... I'm delighted to have "Jeff" as a workable alternative. It's not "Brian", but adding "Jeff" to the end of the sentence does make me feel quite hip. Stone Island, "I'll do what I want", a shit beard and pyro it is next season, for me, then :)

Here's me doing Roygbiv job with a view from Middlesboro

Seen the lad play few times, bags of potential and can cross. I'm happy to sign him.

I have seen this lad twice this year and if this is the standard we are looking at my heart sinks. Mark Yeates mk2.
Pretty underwhelming start to the summer transfer thread

didnt think much of this potential signing until i saw this goal...

( Doyle in there too)

Don't know much about Nathan Thomas, however my mate who supports Newcastle but watches a lot of Hartlepool games raves a lot about this lad saying he's probably the best in League 2.

Daft old git, know what I mean Brian?

Anyway, what's up with good old Keith Macklin?

You beauty Royston, another mixed bag for us to pick the bones out of.

Amongst last season's favourite phrases on the forum was, "Trust in Wilder", so with those words clearly ringing in everyone's ears let's see how he responds to the words of a winning team. Any thoughts of an easy ride will soon be kicked into touch, make no doubt!

I've only seen one year of Wilder and picked up a couple of years from Roy and others at other clubs, but if there is one thing I can confidently predict it is that if the kid works, he plays. If he shirks, is nesh, isn't good enough or doesn't fit, he becomes a Hussey. CW is decisive even if sometimes wrong.

A mixed bag of comments indeed. I think Wilder will see him right. Imagine motivating yourself to play for that dildo Jones. I read on twitter (the most reliable source of course) that he turned up to his first presser for Hartlepool in a tracksuit stuffing sausage sarnies down his gullet whilst answering questions, lack of respect and hardly inspiring.

If I didn't read that, I've been having some fucking weird dreams.

Thanks for the overtime Roy. Appreciate these threads been put together, always interesting.
