If as seems likely, Harry leaves Hull this summer; do we get any money from sell-on clauses?

I think John Stones is hardly better than him. Hopefully Maguire moves for at least £30 million (which is what he's worth in today's market IMO) giving us a tidy sum to reinvest sensibly. Everton will probably sell Lukaku so should have plenty, though personally can see him going to Chelsea to replace John Terry

Stones had established himself at Everton over a longer period and was already an England international. The biggest difference is that Stones had 3 years on his contract whereas Harry only has a year.

So I think Harry will go for around £10m - £15m personally.

Out of the two, I believe Maguire has been the better player this year and if anyone wants to play north, they should be asking north of 40k. Especially as Chelsea struggled for under aged player and Everton because they will have the Lukaku money to spend

And the ludicrously overrated player of the year award goes to....the lad over there with the sunburn.

Lot of demand for him though so I wouldn't be surprised at £15-20m, maybe more if Everton are desperate to sign him. I've heard Spurs want him but Levy doesn't like paying over the odds so Everton may put a big bid in just to blow Spurs out of the water.

Not so sure Pinchy.
I was one of those who thought he would be out of his depth in the premier league and simply too slow.
However, I have seen him live 3 times at Hull, and most recently Boro. He was by far and away the best centre half in the pitch. Even when Dawson came on, he was head and shoulders.
His reading of the game Makes up for lack of pace and he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, but it's his use of the ball that has seen him stand out. Rarely gives it away and carries it so well.

He has come on leaps and bounds since we had him, and I agree he's a far more accomplished player than Stones.
The minute he leaves Hull, he becomes and England international. Nailed on.

And although we might hope he goes for north of £10m....it will be between 5 and 8 million.

Spurs don't pay over the odds? Astute you could say, so what's the money that Harry will have his head set on a spurs move, and hold out to go there? Very likely.
He's already a millionaire, so it will be about trophies, and at Spurs under the Argie they may well get a few

Not sure about that, I seem to remember Naughton was going to Everton until being gazumped by Tottenham, at the 11th hour.

Wherever he goes I hope it's after a significant bidding war :)

Minimum he'll go for is £10m.

Likely to be £15m or more.

Think it's 15% we have too, and 10% on Kyle Walker.

We could have quite a significant financial bonus coming our way this summer.

Apparently Wynaldum wanted Spurs over Liverpool and Poch wanted him but Levy wouldn't pay what Newcastle wanted. So there's a precedent.
If Poch wants him to play in a three regularly, then I'm sure it would be his first choice. And probably the best for his career. Poch is Wilder-like in the way he develops and improves players.
It's just a question of whether or not Spurs want to get into a bidding war or if they'll look abroad for a cheaper alternative.

We get a tenner.

which one?

They didn't pay over the odds though. They offered us a package deal for the two Kyles which was good business for them. Even if you believe their quotes on the transfer fees (£11m including appearance related add-ons and a sell on clause) it was still a decent price for two full backs with good potential.

It wasn't really outbidding Everton, more like out thinking then.

But a bidding war would be great.

One Sheffield United academy product replacing another. Hopefully we can step up again and start to actually keep hold of these great players we produce

Oh, I rate him highly. It was the idea that Chelsea might be after him that provoked my response. I don't think he's good enough for the 'elite' clubs for the very reasons you give.

Given it's money we won't have budgeted for I'd like to see it reinvested in some young players with potential. We seem to have good scouting now so there's a good chance of getting a couple of good ones.

My two penneth for what it's worth.

John Stones is seen as the ultimate modern day centre half for some reason, a ball player and comfortable on the ball.

For me Harry is far better on the ball than Stones and more importantly a far better defender. If Stones is worth 50m, Harry is worth 30m at the least.

For the guy saying Levy doesn't spend money - how much was it they paid for sissoko when they gazumped Everton - 35m?!

Panic buy after Poch threw his toys out of the pram over Spurs's piss poor signings in the close season.

£30m wouldn't shock me though in these times.

Edit: and I didn't say they don't spend money, I said they don't like to pay over the odds. They rarely do and usually get back at least what they've paid for a player, even the failures. With the occasional spectacular fail such as Soldaldo

Would suit any club in a back three. In a back two he would need a pacy partner e.g. Matip at Liverpool.

I think the re-emergence of three at the back has increased his desirability. He's very suited to that system. Right man for his time.

Why would Chelsea buy Lukaku back as a centre half :o
;)

If hull don't go down why would they need £10-15m?

Surely they'd hold out for more

Well if they're anything like us they'll know once the players head is turned and a bigger club comes in there's nothing they can do ;)

But in all seriousness he's developing into a quality player (he was when he was here) and it's a shame it's not come about sooner for him. Anywhere between 10-19m I reckon, still developing and although looking good, doesn't command a top price just yet

My mate tells me that Southampton have been watching him (under the radar) and are very interested. Now with 3 after him could be interesting!
