Brilliant first game back, defended superbly and gets the first goal. No chance of us being able to entice him back.

Just our luck he has a stormer 1st game back.

However Leicester have a huge financial black hole to try and reduce down so still think well get him back

On that note, Souttar played 98 minutes. I know centre backs cover less distance than other positions, but can anyone imagine a United player doing this after a 16 month injury?
It’s a bit of a conspiracy theory by me, however I think part of the reason Souttar was so badly injured is because once we realised how good he was we overplayed him. He’d hardly played for a season before coming to us on loan.

Maybe just putting 2+2 together to make 5 but with our medical record it wouldn’t surprise me.

He’d covered the full length of the pitch when he scored. Thought he looked very mobile, he’s just what we need, I’ll cut Abingdon some slack as he’s still young but we don’t have a really good centre half at the club

He’s apparently on £40k per week. We’re not paying that kind of money from next season.

True but he is entering the last year of his contract next season.

Leicester may have done something crazy, it seems like they actually let their player fully recover from injury rather than trying to shoehorn them back into the first team lineup early.

Great player yes, but wilder has said injury concerns will play a part in recruitment next year, as they should, this guy is always injured. Also what happened the last time we signed a big centre half part of a team that suffered double relegations?

Yeah and he also said he would be open to having Kalvin Phillips back... Injury concerns seems like a very loose term for him.

I reckon we might be one of a few teams that would go for him.

I can see him being a loan as they accept they need to remove his wages or a swap for McGuinness.

Arguably if a transfer swap with McGuinness doesn’t happen then even a loan swap might work.

He’s clearly better than what we have.

Sounds like he had a decent game last night.

My concerns are wages and fitness going forward. Also we’re not very good at keeping players fit.

I’d say a loan is the best case scenario here
