Before Harry joined Hull I had the temerity to suggest that he had a number of defensive frailties, including poor positional sense, ball-watching, lack of pace, lack of awareness etc. In a later Thread someone (perhaps mischievously) asked the question "Maguire or JOC?" and I said JOC, without reservation, and gave my reasons. Needless to say no-one agreed with me.
After watching Harry's progress since (including him reach the heady heights of World Cup games as an England hero) I am still of the same opinion. Defensively he has numerous short-comings, and I still would take big JOC over him anytime. However, under the right Manager......?? (Leicester's managers have not resolved his problems).
Will Manchester United (or another big-spending club) take a punt on him now?
Anyhow - have a read at what Leicester fans are saying about him on their forum:
"Despite the slating he gets on here, Morgan has been far, far, better than Maguire this season and we've looked so much better and more assured defensively this season with Morgan in the side over Maguire."
"Be interested to see the stats for our goals conceded with Maguire this season vs our goals conceded without him. I'd imagine they'd be very damning. He's having a piss poor season really. "
"He's been disappointingly ineffective at our corners too, but that could be partly due to poor delivery."
