I was never that impressed with Harry Maguire bar his first full season. He did have the makings of a decent Championship defender, and could read the game well, and was strong in the air and on the ball and blessed with an excellent range of passing, and excellent control, but his weakness was he often slow and ponderous on the ball, lacked pace, and could be prone to errors.
Him and his agent obviously decided during the summer that he was too big for the club that had invested a lot of time and loyalty in him, and forced a move away. He has now got that move, so he is no longer our player now, and it is up to him now to make his own career.
I think the big stumbling block for any move for Harry Maguire will be the level of wage contribution that Elephant man wants from any loan deal. What i did read in the paper earlier what i found astounding was that Burnley aren't bringing Chaboleh on loan in from Chelsea because the wage contribution they want for his 35k a week wages is out of range from Burnley. That is astounding that a player like that is on so much money. The game has gone mad.
