i vote for bringing him back if we can. decent player would be great to get promoted with him

Embarassing ,just giving hull officials another chance to belittle our club

If we are lucky we might get a nice pat on the head and a harry is allowed to play with you if you behave but more likely someone like that fat tramp bruce will seize on the oportunity to show us up in the press by saying they rather their 8th choice centre half played at a higher level

From the Hull perspective it makes no sense at all to send him back to whence he came, the third tier. How that will improve him, lord knows!
Surely he's heading for a Championship loan?
From our perspective, kin hell, get him here before they change ploy. But surely its just overblown talk fuelled by a multi interpretable comment by NC.

Well he was at the match Saturday I walked past him pulling into the carpark behind the kop. But is this a realistic option for H to come back? He's just gone to a prem club so you would have assumed if they did loan him out it would be to a club in the championship. However can't knock the club for trying and if he was to come back it would be a brilliant bit of business!

'Former Hull Daily Mail writer James Shield says any deal for the £2.5m-man would hinge on whether City can qualify for the Europa League group stage by coming from behind to beat Lokeren on Thursday evening.'

Must be accurate, then.

On the contrary, this looks like one of those awkward midnight drunken ebay purchases you try and get out of but can't. if anyone looks like tits its Hull.

For what its worth this is what the same paper said about Harry's performance in Europa Cup:

Harry Maguire makes a promising start

Harry Maguire made his competitive debut for the Tigers and, although it wasn't an entirely comfortable night, he can feel reasonably assured with his display.

This was Maguire's first competitive game since the end of last season, so he was bound to be a little rusty. That was evident at times on Thursday. His passing was often a little wayward and on a couple of occasions he was turned too easily.

Having said that, he looked very strong in the air and it's hard to recall him missing a defensive header.

Any definitive judgement on Maguire will have to wait until he has played in the Premier League.

In Steve Bruce - a former centre back of some pedigree - Maguire has the perfect mentor and I'd expect him to push on at some pace this season.

Hull have now signed MIchael Dawson, so Harry could be even further down the pecking order, behind Davies, Dawson Chester, Bruce & McShane.
I'm not sure I'd have him back after the mardy strop he seems to have pulled to get his "dream" move.

I'm inclined to agree with those saying they don't want him back. He walked away from the club and forced the move himself. He doesn't want to play for us anymore!

Get him back, and bench him.

Seriously though, we could do with his consistency in the air. Hull have signed Dawson - I doubt Maguire will play this season at all except in minor games and end of season games.

pommpey

Wouldn't want him back and I don't think it would be a good deal for him or Hull. It's clear he won't feature for them this season barring a run of injuries but what would they learn by sending him back to us ? Far better for them, and him, to send him out to a Chumpionship club to test him at a higher level than the relative comfort of League 1 where he's already proved himself.

It's a bit worrying that NC is still apparently looking for another CB given we already have 3 and 3 more who can cover the position if needs be (not to mention any academy players).

It does sound like a funny one but I could understand Hull being happy with him coming back to us - his development with SUFC has been faultless. I'm sure they'd be happy for that to continue for another season as much as "testing" that he is indeed good enough in the Championship. They already believe he is otherwise they wouldn't have bought him.

Bringing back Harry will halt the progress off McGahey as I can't see Clough playing them both together.

This. Does everyone take short term gain over the development of our younger players. It seems Clough has primarily signed younger players for development so what do we do, sign some loanees who have no commitment to the club or develop our own talent trusting the Manager knows what he is doing?

Harry would not be worth what he was to us without the game time and development invested in him. How are others going to develop playing U21 and reserve team football or out on loan at Oxford United or such?

If that short term gain is getting us out of L1 then yes, I would take that every time...

Two points. Harry is in the team to face Lokeren tonight. And being involved with a Premier League team amounts to a whole lot more than 'game time' - whether with us or in the Championship.

One of our players (can't remember who) said after the Semi that the Hull players were all 'built like welterweight boxers'. It's this elite training, nutrition etc. that sets these guys apart - something he wouldn't receive with us or anybody outside the PL.
