As far as I know Gilchrist has been at shirecliffe this break! the coaches will have been working with him to get him up to speed position wise , I don't think it will be a problem.

Gilchrist and Burrows came to us with a big reputation so I had high expectations.

Think both started quite slowly, looking just OK however both seem to be getting better each match. So things are looking good for the future.

However think it depends on the match and if we’re under pressure. Against the very best teams then Hamer might need to help out Burrows more and JRS/ Brooks might need to help out Gilchrist more.

I’m going to pin my colours to the mast here and say if he stays with us for 3/4 years he will be one of our best ever left backs. Enda was unreal in those 2 seasons (especially the 19/20 season) which will be hard to beat, but I really do think we’ve got a gem here.

I'll join u on that

Most of the yootubers have him as best championship signing of the season and some even reckon he's a future England left back. He's still young and he'll only grow this season so hope fans don't get on his back for the odd bad performance.

Definitely, he looks comfortable at this level.

The real questions in the back line are about the right side. Is Gilchrist a good first choice right back for the season despite being out of position.
I agree on that,he’s got closer to his man to give them no room, the first couple of matches he looked a little iffy but certainly improved. The right hand side is a concern as Watford targeted that last week as Gilchrist is not a right back,Sakai didn’t help him out much either. Early days.

although its not his natural position i still think gilchrist is more than good enough at this level but has looked more confident with brooks down that side helping out certainly in away games burrows is a tremendous prospect who will only get better

Yeah, this is why I thought Brooks should start most games in the other thread.

We have got ourselves an absolute gem in this young lad.I am old codger who has followed our team since 1958 and can say honestly that this lad has the potential to be the best left full back i have seen in red and white.
If nothing else comes of this season at least we will have seen a young player take his first real steps to eventually become an international footballer.

Was watching a video of top 10 championship players who could one day get capped for England and he was named.

He is technically excellent with the ball at his feet and so mature and composed despite only being 22.

Was that the YouTube channel called EFL Championship podcast or something along those lines, they put Arblaster on one of those future England players lists as well.

One of the best things with Burrows, we push him up the pitch to help the attack when we bring McCallum on.

Yeah think so mate, Cooper was also named as a potential future England keeper.

Toss up between Burrows and Anel for MOTM for me. He looks a cracking player who’s now taking the step up in class in his stride.

Got Enda’s running down the wing sung to him tonight too !

Quality performance… just keeps getting better.

You can see why he was captain at Peterborough, how old is he 34?

Tonight he was not only superb in play, he was literally telling players where to close down, when to go forward, who to pick up.

For me he is the best pick up of the window, will be captain and a club legend.

Thats him sold next summer then

Hot take... Wouldn't be out of place in a Villa or Tottenham team

What are those scores based on?

The FotMob player rating is calculated based on more than 300 individual stats per player per match from Opta. A match in the per match ratings is any match the participant has been involved in even if he came on as substitute in the last few minutes

Thank you.

Overtaken Blaster and Vini to now have highest rating out of all Championship players on Fotmob

4 Sheffield United players in the top 7 btw

Not sure how the Opta stats they use to calculate these ratings work but Souttar can consider himself a little unfortunate to miss out as well. He’s rarely dipped below a 7/10 using my old school eye-test!

Big H comes in at no 45, that doesn't seem right

He reminds me abit like Leif Davis at Ipswich and can easily do the same career path. Defending very good but attacking even better if he can continue with his numbers.

A PL future left back with England hopes.

Named as one of 10 EFL players Tuchel should consider calling up to the England squad...

(Trafford and Beadle recommended as GKs but not Cooper for some reason)
Its a bit of an odd list as it doesn't really say too much about why any of them should be considered for England, and Sam Tickle isn't in the championship anyway, though I have seen him linked with Preston this window.

I didn't realise Trafford had already been in the England squad owing to Ramsdale dropping out though.

Burrows and Cirkin are the best shouts given England's lack of depth at LB.

Not a criticism but think he may benefit a couple of games on the bench for McCallum.

At times last night he looked off it and resting Peck a few games has done him the world of good.

Also McCallum is a decent footballer anyway.
