Was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about what had happened to Harris?

Doesn't seem to have been mentioned since coming off on Saturday. Looked like he took a nasty knock. I am unsure of what actually happened as I missed the incident.

I couldn't see from the jss but a mate on the kop said long punched him and rearranged his nose

Not sure, the implication was a cheek injury.

Given he had oxygen as he was carried off I wonder if it's a fractured cheekbone.

Could be out for a while.

Suspected broken jaw , I only know this because a mate of mine was driving the ambulance that took him to hospital and he text me

Went off on a stretcher with an oxygen mask on. Lying very still - possibly under medical instruction.

Adkins said it was a facial injury - didn't mention anything about unconsciousness - though that was straight after the match.

Horrendous quality but I have just looked at the match video on the Blades site and Harris is going down after what looks like a collision with the Oldham player whilst the ball is still being crossed in from the corner. First photo Harris colliding with Oldham player. I've highlighted the ball (red) on the way in (second photo) and you can see Harris is already on his way down. Anyone with BladesPlayer it is the first half on 42 minutes 15 seconds. Looks like the Oldham player caught him with an elbow or something.
Get well soon Bob.

In with a shout of facing Coventry according to Andy Crosby via Rob Staton.

Everyone round me was saying double fist punch by long but I saw it as a collision or something off the ball before the cross came in and as you point out he was already on his way down.

If he got carried off from a George long punch he must be a right fairy ,but he did land at their strikers feet.

It may have been Philliskirk. Marking maybe not that good by Harris as he allowed Philli in front to meet the cross. Having said that it doesn't help if you are sparko having just been elbowed in the face.

Harris hopes for all-clear to face City on Sunday

Sheffield United will not take any risks with defender Bob Harris (right)

Bob Harris could return to action against Coventry City this weekend.

The Sheffield United defender is undergoing a series of concussion protocols at his club’s Steephalt Academy training complex after receiving a blow to the head during Saturday’s victory over Oldham Athletic.

Football Association rules prohibit any player diagnosed with concussion from participating in a game for at least six days but, with United’s next fixture taking place on a Sunday, Harris would be eligible for selection if medical staff grant him the all-clear.

“He was given the all-clear from hospital but, as with every head injury, there are procedures to follow,” United’s assistant manager Andy Crosby said last night. “He’s been out on the grass this morning but obviously not doing anything like heading a ball. Bob has to go through and tick a box every day as it were before he can even be considered.”

Harris left the pitch on a stretcher during the first-half of the FA Cup second round tie. Should he fail one of the tests, or report symptoms such as a headache or disturbed sleep, then he must return to the previous phase of the FA’s recovery programme and miss City’s visit. Equally, if Harris suffers another concussion this season, then the advice of a “suitably qualified neurological specialist” must be sought “prior to return to play.”

“Safety is paramount and quite rightly so,” Crosby said. “I think you could see the serious nature of the situation on Saturday. Nobody likes to see that happen but thankfully he’s okay.”
