That does not mean I'm anti CW, love the bloke but I will always give an opinion of him, praise or criticism. But if he doesn't get us up and it now starts going pear shaped like last season these past few days will be pivotal in his history as manager, the knives will be out and he has given plenty of people ammunition to get people to turn and I cannot see him surviving should it go pear.

.

Pivotal? You can’t be serious.

3 wins on the spin then the reserves got beat in the cup.

Seriously, just relax.

I agree, manager takes team from Mid league 1 to the cust of the Premier League, whilst attracting many praises and plaudits for his innovative style of football, whilst achieving a NET PROFIT in transfers should be questioned.

And can I throw Madine into that aswell.

I agree, done a remarkable job and for all the "praises and plaudits" he is not above criticism also is my point. And his innovative style of football? its brilliant but plenty of have done it before including Lincoln long before us so not that innovative but it suits us and is brilliant to watch, its our Plan A. If it fails in a game we have no Plan B, that's a criticism I have. Long may Plan A rule

Just listened to Wilder's interview. What a disgrace!

He's given the players a proper hammering in public, they'll never come back from this. He should have said how unfortunate we were and how fitness was the key part.

Shame on Wilder (and Madine).

Sorry mate can't agree with you here .....

I think Tufty was absolutely justified in playing the players he chose as it was important to rest the first team squad after a busy Xmas period and given the fact we have little depth of quality in the squad for Championship games.

He's working with a bottom 6 budget and delivering top 6 football and results and that (in my eyes) is somewhat of a miracle.

The team he picked ( with no disrespect intended to Barnet) should have been capable, given their experience, of winning the game and it reflects poorly on the PLAYERS, not the manager .... that they fell significantly short of the standard required.

They fully deserved a public bollocking and any who are not professional enough to own up to performing poorly do not deserve to pull on our shirt. If they cannot take well deserved criticism on the chin then they have no place at our Club !!

It does evidence though that we have meager strength in depth in the squad and I would suggest that there are several of the team who played yesterday who may have just closed the door to further opportunity in our first team squad.

Perhaps this will have some positive outcome if it serves as a wake-up call to people at the Club who think that Tufty doesn't need to be afforded further financial backing to help with a play-off challenge.

If and it's a big if, it goes pear shaped and we fade away like last season when the enquiry starts as to what went wrong these past few days will be seen to be pivotal in that enquiry.

Poor team selection, poor tactics. Out of order by slaughtering those players publicly, that should have been done behind closed doors but it was great deflection tactic by CW to take away how badly he got everything wrong and blame the players. Only tactic he got right all day.

It has been years and years since the whole club was so United, the staff, the players, the fans, now all of a sudden CW is on a mission to smash that to smithereens. His slaughtering of fringe players, the diabolical signing of Madine which has not only divided the fans once more but will divide the players 100%. CW saying he has asked the squad of their thoughts on signing Madine before he went for him is the biggest load of bull I have ever heard, what was he expecting them to say? one of the them to stick his neck out? no gaffer I don't want him, hes just not very good never mind being a prized bell end.. Yeah a player is really gonna stand up and say that to CW and basically say your getting it badly wrong and so put a target on his own back, laughable really.

CW can be very stubborn and will stick to his guns even if its not going to work purely to say get it up you to his dissenters, as soon as Madine was mentioned and their was a bit of uproar from some Blades it made Wilder want him more, it will be his downfall in the long run and I've said that before.

This is my criticism of CW, contrary to what some Blades think criticism of CW is allowed when it is warranted and imo these past few days it has been warranted.

That does not mean I'm anti CW, love the bloke but I will always give an opinion of him, praise or criticism. Me personally will still back him even if we didn't go up or even make the play offs, he is the right man for the job, he will get us up at some point, I truly believe it will be this season if the camp stays united I just wish he wasn't so stubborn and come out and say it was his fault, he got it wrong, work on it, work on different tactics, different formations, because he really does struggle in that dept if Plan A has failed.
He's not stubborn at all. He's signed players and very quickly if they haven't been doing it, they are out of the team and off. That's quite the opposite of stubborn

Sorry but whats the definition of a great fisherman ? One who nods off the least ,sits the most comfortable ,watches his little feather or whatever it is most keenly ? Or is it as I suspect ,manages to get out of the house most ?

Self inflicted break in a 46 game season is surely more sensible than pushing our players too hard until they break or breakdown

There always has to be a fall guy!
But, as it turns out, it's easier to change the oil than the whole engine.
I understand why Wilder picked the team he did, I totally understand how disgusted he is with their symbolic efforts, but on the flip side, if he had played a few first teamers, then we may have kept our for going into QPR.
my main concern now, is, will we still have that momentum or, will we have lost it???
Only time will tell unfortunately.

It has been years and years since the whole club was so United, the staff, the players, the fans, now all of a sudden CW is on a mission to smash that to smithereens.
Who do you think got the whole club so united, Father Christmas?
It was Wilder of course and now you think that
all of a sudden CW is on a mission to smash that to smithereens

What a load of bollox.

Looking at it from a different perspective, if we'd played our first team and Billy, Fleck, Norwood, JOC, Enda or Egan had got injured, we'd be moaning about them playing in a meaningless cup game. Especially if we lose against QPR............ no pressure lads!

Exactly what happened to the pigs they lost Hutchinson and Bannan .Both left the game due to injuries during the Luton game.

Why would it just be our fault if it goes tits up? Two teams play every game of football, sometimes you just lose, sometimes teams with a budget improve and those without stand still.

Anyway our form at the end of last season was fine, there's this myth that we were absolutely dogshit in the second half, it's just not true. We were dogshit from Fulham, through December, until we got some reinforcements in January.

It wasn't as good as the first half but it wasn't appalling. If we'd had the points per game of the second half of the season all season I think we'd have got 55+ points I think (I worked it out a while ago but can't find it), which considering we only got 6 points from mid November to the start of January, is pretty respectable.

If we drop off it'll be because other teams have moved forward, and we don't have the budget to get the depth to keep up. It won't be because we lost to Barnet and it won't be because Gary Madine has upset people.

Honestly, I don't know why people think that we've thrown away a guaranteed top 2 by signing Madine. When you look at what's behind us the entire top 6 could change before the end of the season. Villa, Brum, Stoke, Forest, QPR, Hull, Swansea could all replace what's there now.

Whatever the merits or otherwise of your post, I cannot get past the absurdity of the concept of Harry Haslam criticising Chris Wilder's management of United...

Why? If we fade away, it will be a totally different team doing the fading. No one likes getting beat by a non-league side, but it has literally nothing to do with our first team.
