Don't want to be a negative Neddy, but is money so tight that we have to loan out Hanson to afford to get a player or two to push for a spot in the richest league in the world?

No, it's just good business practice... get an unused player off the books and bring in someone who'll contribute in return.

Believe it or not we're a well-run club nowadays :)

And is it just me, or would anyone else feel underwhelmed with Devante Cole? In Wilder's words on Saturday, what's the point in buying pace? What would pace have offered against Bolton? Nothing. There wasn't any space to run into against a packed defence and midfield. What we need is that little bit of "qualiteh" to unlock a defence.
Is every team going to play like Bolton ? Isn't having options a good thing?

I just wouldn't have thought that his wages would be too great a burden given the size of the prize.

The lottery prize is so great I'm going to buy a million tickets, though as the odds of winning are 1 in 14 million I will more than likely be £ 2 million in debt next week.

What could possibly go wrong ?

played a big part when he signed last season gave us a different option. We all knew he was a short term signing to help get us promoted, I'm sure deep down he did too.

All the best Hanson and cheers for playing your part in some great memories. (You deserve much better than Bury, mind)

I hope we've charged them a loan fee, it's only fair we recoup some cash from them after they had our pants down with Leon Clarke, he'll never score in the Championship and for £70k I think it's a bad bit of business and a waste of a place in the squad.

Lots. That was with the old draw with 49 numbers. 45,000,000 / 1 for jackpot now.

I’m going to be controversial here I think we should of sell Billy rather than loan out Hanson.
He’s a good route one option and upsets deferences .
Billy doesn’t seem to be offering us much at the moment, he has no pace and isn’t strong enough to hold off championship defenders.
His value as a player is decreasing every week. Now is the time to sell. Billy was brilliant in league one , but there’s no room for sentiment.

I just can't wait......

Billy doesn’t seem to be offering us much at the moment,

8 goals, 3 assists and 73% of shots are on target

Nope, you're right he has offered nothing.

Bugger all.

Get him tarred and feathered. He could join the queue behind George Long.

he has no pace

He had no pace when he was 20. His game has NEVER been about pace.

He has always scored in bursts and then had a run non-scoring games. What is so difficult about that to understand?

Only once on the losing side in a Blades shirt and that was v Fulham this season. However, we scored twice to Fulham’s one goal whilst he was on.

Did a job last season but was never going to be Championship standard.

He’s a sellable asset and is currently offering nothing , the Bolton game our players didn’t even bother to try and thread balls though to Billy because at this standard he’s just not good enough. I think opposing teams now have worked him out , we will see at the end of the season whether I’m correct. I just think we could get 300-400k for him now from a league one title contender and remove a high earner from the wage bill, then reinvest the money on a quality player.

I suppose it is 'all about opinions'.....

My opinion would be that £300k for Billy would be lunacy. He has scored 8 goals so far and will come good again and score more this season and next.

He may be a little out of form but that is temporary. To say he is not good enough for La Liga is very silly to my mind but then WTFDIK.

I'm just some random bloke on the internet who has a little more faith in our players than some other random bloke.

That fine line between controversy and lunacy.....

i think one of the problems with that, even if it was a good idea doing it (I'm not sure it is) is finding a buyer who'd be willing to pay Billy what he would demand.

Sell the striker with 59 goals for the club or the striker with 1 goal? Tough choice!

I’m not sure there is 2 very unlikely to find a buyer in the championship and on one or two clubs in league one , all of which are down ok at the moment. Let us hope he rediscovers touch again soon. But I know I’m criticising a sacred cow of United but in the medium to long term we need a new forward with pace to scare the opponents.
Billy is not doing this, his performance against Bolton was dire I know he wasn’t alone.
His goal scoring record against championship defences isn’t marvellous. So I believe if we get a good offer we should take it.
