Bringing the old gang back together...a familiar story at the Lane. Fully fit Souttar walks into the team and massively strengthens the defence, but will he be? Im not sure Choudhury is worth the wages, id sooner sign a proper right back and Blaster should be back by January so we'd only need him in CM if Matos and or Soumare are on their way out.

Picked up in those last couple of months & was a steady player, but is he the answer? Not a natural RB & played far too deep and safe when he played in midfield. We need more natural balance in the defence and progressive players in midfield.

As for Souttar, huge gamble after so long out. We need to move away from players who can’t play 90 minutes, 2 games in a row or need easing back in after long injuries!

He was outstanding in the games he played at RB / RWB towards the end of last season and in the PO Final ( which now feels like a very distant memory)

We would have conceded far fewer goals had he been signed up as I believe we had the option.

That’s a very big very aerially dominant back 5 Burrows aside. We might not be particularly creative regarding contributions from defence but that should be a solid defence which absolutely eats up anything lumped into the box and we wouldn’t get bullied out of games. Wouldn’t necessarily be exciting but I’m not sure that’s the brief anymore given the start to the season. Become hard to beat grind out the rest of the season hopefully in mid table and look to build again in the summer and that defence could do it.

I wouldn’t go as far as to drive down to Leicester and back as there were a few ropey performances but I’d certainly offer him use of my friends and family rail card.

For what Peck contributes in terms of output, I.e. he isn’t assisting or scoring, you may as well have Choudhury and Soumaré as your first picks. You’d be very physically strong and athletic and give you a much former base to attack from.

You could then perhaps transition to Arblaster and Choudhury.

Although not ideal, on a horses for coarses basis you should be able to manage with Ogbene, Seriki and Shackleton ad RWB options.

Souttar for McGuinness is such an obvious upgrade.

Get those two and we could get back to thinking that one goal could be enough.

I’d walk down the hard shoulder to Leicester, buy him his tea, and piggy-back him all the way to Shirecliffe if it meant we could get him back in January. I’d also give the bugger a horse-whip to keep me moving, if he’d sign for us on a perm.

Someone who is actually capable of being a right back is a pretty significant upgrade on what we currently have.

Wouldn’t be a settling in period, already knows what would be expected & someone who has previously shown he’s more than capable of playing in the system.

No brainer if he’s available.

Yeah, it was quite telling for me.

A loan player and a player who knew he was likely to be leaving, were the main ones to look genuinely gutted and made a point of acknowledging the fans.

If players are available and they are far better than what we currently have then it's a no brainer.

The negativity, from a minority of people, towards CW is unbelievable.

The players mentioned are Wilders choice from last season and are a million miles in front of some of the dross brought in this year.
