I'm not sure about this policy of signing players because they had a good game against us 6 years ago is wise.
He's just one of those players a subset of our fans on here get absolutely fixated with and pat each other on the back every time one of them mentions him. It all seems a bit weird to me

That's definitely, 100%, completely, why Wilder wants to sign him.

He doesn't actually play on the wing though does he.

I mean I don't know what you're watching, but I'm certainly not seeing Hamer run around much on the left side of the pitch like a winger does.
he did do its only last 3 or 4 games where hes wandered inside he needs to start central and control things from there will rephrase it then left midfield is his wrong position but just my opinion

Left Midfield is the wrong position for anyone in the squad right by now. We're still paying for this summers transfer strategy.

Here's his stats compared to other midfielders from his time on loan at Watford.

Decent sample size as it's across 3033 minutes of game time (equivalent to 33 full matches).

Basically looking at the best defensive midfielder in the league, but expect little else.
We'd be a very tight ship if we went with Souza & Choudhury, but would rely a lot on Gus Hamer and co. to progress the ball on their behalf. Which I think would be OK.

Does anyone know what this like compared to Souza? Be similar I bet

Hamer's stats for Coventry were absolutely outrageous at CM.
The best all round midfielder in the division, probably by some distance.

Does make you question whether we're wasting him on the wing.
The standout for me is his pass completion. If anyone is in any doubt as to why Hamer isn’t considered for the midfield two then the answer is right there. Even in an otherwise brilliant season he gave the ball away pretty much one in three attempted passes.

My full list is BBD, HC, MG, JjK and AO.

TM was back up for HC.
LB was back up for BBD

Seems weird Omabamidele the only defender on that list and no backup if he ends up at Leeds...?

Edi: Oh sorry and Jonjoe Kenny

His short passing is woeful. It's noticeable every game but he gets away with it as he makes up for it with his brilliant moments.

12% completion though 👀 i expected like 30-35%

Jonjoe Kenny and Matt Grimes (assume that's right) are the only two I haven't seen picked up by media yet.

Cheers for the info. Wouldn't mind any of them, all beef up our options.

Like when you watch a live set on YouTube and you search the comments for the tracklist... I'll help out:

Ben Brereton-Diaz (Southampton) - Left Wing/Striker - Chilean International
Hamza Choudhury (Leicester) - Defensive Mid / Centre Back / Right Back - Quality Haircut
Matt Grimes (Swansea) - Defensive Mid / Central Mid
Jonjoe Kenny (Hertha Berlin) - Right Back
Andrew Omobamidele (Nottm Forest) - Centre Back - Irish International

My full list is………

Can we define your ‘list’?

Are you posting as a fan and that’s your wish list like most of us

Or

Are you claiming to still have source at the club and you are ITK?

Lose lips sinks ships and false rumours can get out of control and make the clubs work harder.

Fixed it for you. Agree with the sentiment though, his creativity is second to none. He's 24/25 United's version of 21/22's Morgan Gibbs-White.

Ahh, thought we’d only be after one of him or Choudary to be fair. Up top is where we could do with another imo.
would have liked another striker to come in as well as bbd but looking unlikely suggests that wilder still has faith in brewster cant see us signing choudray and grimes so think it has to be one or the other

I suppose we have Moore, Brewster, One, Marsh, and Campbell. If we add in BBD AND probably even JRS Chris will think we have the numbers.
I dont personally. I'd loan out One and Marsh. I'd sell Brewster too while we're on it, but that's not going to happen. I'd want a fox in the box striker.

Arguably we have our fox in the box in the form of Campbell. He certainly has all the anticipation to be in the the right place, and can finish. I think our problem is supply, and has been all season.
