I wonder if this one has gone quiet till the Cannon deal is finalised so Leicester can do some creative accounting on which player is what fee.

Wilder saying he’s confident on all the 1st choice targets. Choudhury seems to be just that. Hoping it gets done.

Was also going to say something similar. Heard this maybe a perm signing?

We're chasing a loan deal with an option to buy.
Leicester pushing for it to be an obligation upon promotion.

I think he'd be good here and can see why Wilder is attracted, particularly given his versatility and experience.
However, if Shea Charles is realistic I'd love us to bring him in. For two reasons.

Can't see us committing to PL player wages for X years when we could easily be in Championship.
This one has to start with a loan.

What happens in a loan with "obligation on promotion" if the player gets badly injured ?
Still have to buy him , even when he might never recover to the same standard ?

Does that exclude Shea Charles then as it seems he only became available about a day ago and all our 1st choice targets will have been negotiated some time back?

If ‘moving down’ the list means Tommy Doyle comes in then I’m all for it!
That would surely be a £20m deal.
Not knocking it but it’s a very competitive area of the pitch for us especially with a view of next season too.

I may be in a minority, but I’d prefer HC over Doyle. Be interested to hear people’s thoughts on that….

I would rather sign Choudhury if it was a choice of the two. I still wouldn't sniff if Doyle walked through the door though.

I agree. Doyle was OK a few seasons ago and has been OK since at Wolves. He id a great job when he came in at the tail end of the promotion and scored a few good goals. He is a squad player in a below average PL team. Would be an upgrade on last time we were there, and great for the champ.
I suppose most of the above applies to Choudhary too, but I would prefer him.

I would take any of those 2 to be honest.

Seems like it’s more likely Choudhary. Nice defensive option too have. Experienced pro in championship. Recent promotion too with Leicester which will always be an added bonus.

Choudhury is 27, so what you see is what you get with him. Doyle is 23, so there's still room for growth.

Choudhury probably would be the better pure Vini Souza backup, but I think as a player I like Doyle more.

Doyle is one I would love to bring in permanently next season if we were to go up. But right now he’s playing games for Wolves so would imagine it’s a tough deal to do.

HC can also play right-back, so getting him instead of Doyle would maybe negate the need for Kenny. More money for strengthening other positions.

I would rather have Choudhury for this season. We're going to have hard games. We'll need experience. He brings that. And also the ability to put a foot in. Charles is a better prospect but I doubt Southampton would sell him anyway.

Doyle would be a fantastic addition but I agree with you that our greater need is for another physical presence/ball-winner to back up Souza and maybe play alongside him at times. With the addition of BBD and return of JRS, we have plenty of the more creative midfielders/forwards.
Nice to get both if possible.

Anyone still getting excited about the prospect of this (or rating him over Tommy Doyle) have a quick gander on the Foxes Forum (or if you're not busy Roygbiv help us out!!).

Literally nobody on there with a positive word to say about him as a player or man ('bad apple' said over and over again) and they're pissing themselves at the prospect of us signing him. A Bella Emberg sized hell no!!!

Thanks for info.
With the importance that CW places on getting the right personality to fit into the group , I hope he's aware of this.

Strange that Choudhary has reached 27 before he is called out as a bad apple.CW is strong on personality so I think we can put the bad apple bit to bed.
He has played under a few managers there so must have something to offer us !.
