Hammond, I don't think he likes us.

Well I'll miss him! That simple, unchallenged crossfield pass early in the second half, just before he was mercifully subbed, was a wonder to behold. On the South Stand side, his team-mate (I think, Done) was in acres of space over on the JSS. Hammond, displaying technique that the rest of you wouldn't understand (you don't see the work he does) managed to put it 20 yards behind his man.

You had to be there.

Well I don't like him !

Looked completely out of his depth today. For a prem player, his first touch and speed of thought (or speed of anything) was embarrassing. Looks to me like he is sliding fast. Some players do just slide at the end, I guess.

He makes Coutts look lithe. That's a real feat.

I didn't think he should have been taken off, and I thought the jeers were unwarranted, but then I thought... good. We have to do all we can to convince the club not to sign him and him not to sign for us.

Any midfield with an even older and slower Hammond in it next season will be far too limited to see us challenge for promotion.

I'm sorry for him and Adkins that he's totally past it, but we're not a charity. Well we shouldn't be.

Gave the Kop a real scowl when coming off and shook his head muttering something which I guess he wouldn't say in front of his mother.
Had every reason to look pissed off, I hate it when fans either boo their own player or cheer his substitution. Having said that he was terrible today and has ranged between average and poor all season, notwithstanding all that unseen hard work that I'm sure he does

I am still seething over that completely unnecessary challenge in the 93rd minute at Old Trafford, which cost us a replay and thousands of pounds.

You, me, Kev and thousands of others pal

Hammond and Coutts in the middle. Shudder.

UTB

Indeed a shudder - but we also have to add Flynn there too.
ok, he's a bit like Monty - gives 100%, but sorry, not in anything like centre mid.

Over run in the 2nd half..............again - sorry Adkins, your latest tactical change of 3-5-2 with the present players isn't working as hasn't eveything else he has tried this season.

Ship the lot out - and if Hammond signs..............oh dear !

Paul bloody Coutts. Now Baxter has gone I've got some got some antipathy to spare...

I can see the obvious talent in him but we've been waiting a year for him to show the necessary fitness and bite to influence a league one campaign. That's plenty long enough now. Off you pop, Paul.

Hammond I actually feel for, as his legs have totally abandoned him. His game is far more responsible and team-orientated than Baxter's or Coutts'. It's a real shame as an experienced midfield captain and leader is what we need.

We will sign him, you can bank on it, Adkins has nailed his colours to the mast and he won't get a better offer from anywhere else. Unfortunately we seem to be a club in terminal decline making the same mistakes time and again !

If Adkins is stupid then he will sign Hammond.

The 3rd tier has moved on a lot since Adkins was here last and I reckon this season has taught even Adkins a few lessons.

If he doesn't heed the changes and can't see that "old" players like Hammond just can't compete in this division now, then I am in the camp of Adkins out, with a thanks, but no thanks.

Adkins has to wake up (sometime) and smell the fucking coffee - football from the Premiership down through the divisions is moving on - it appears to me this season that our present footballing management team of Adkins, Wilkins and Crosby are not seeing the changes.

Have this management team actually "made" any of our squad better this season?

Crewe, today - made us look idiots in the 2nd half by simply changing their style and approach - it is deeply depressing that our team (on the field) and apparently led by (senior player) Hammond just didn't get it.

Something HAS to change.................

Yep...we needed a Hammond of seven or so years ago...with the best will in the world, once yer legs go that's it..

Adkins has to do better with a tight budget next year and a big chunk on Hammond would be a waste

Surely Adkins has witnessed and worked out it is just not working the way he thought and hoped it would .

I think us fans have been understanding and patient regarding Hammond , but with money supposedly being tight , Adkins has to sort his priorities in some order . Hammond in on a very low wage primarily to learn his trade as a player coach yep ok , but not as a first choice midfielder on big money - no chance and suicidal for Adkins and us as a club.

It could be requests and decisions like the potential Hammond one , which dictates Adkins future at the lane , with the powers that be who hold the money strings and who employ him.

2 players with different skill sets but a common problem - their legs have gone.

He can't do much about Coutts - he'll be on huge wages and like all the others, his next move is a big step downwards. We're stuck with him.

Adkins has no such excuse with Hammond. He really shouldn't make this mistake.

He did it twice.

Whiteman assisted the 2 goals in his home debut and started the move that ended in Billy's goal today. Better him than Hammond

My old employer had a phrase for redundancy I thought I'd never use... But we really need to 'invest' in Paul Coutts.

Something HAS to change and it's got to be the manager .

McCabe has to be acertive with this one , as Adkins interviews come across to me that he is deluded ,
Hammond sorry to say is just not working out , a disaster this season , and a complete waste of money ( we supposedly ain't got ) .

Is Adkins a dead man walking who doesn't know what's coming , the same as Clough saga .

Speed was a yard short but he was twice as quite as Hammond.

That's how far we've fallen.
