Is Dean Hammond available tomorrow? If so I guess Adkins will put him back in the team along with Collins. I hope he persists with Cuvelier as be adds a bit of creativity to the team.

Not up to speed but thought it was two matches.

It really was strange seeing Flo with his mobility in our midfield - and I'm not even kidding.

I don't think he's particularly fast or agile for a professional footballer - but it was a revelation to see someone moving freely about the middle of the pitch.

Yeah, but we didn't score, and then we let in two.

There's no doubt that we look like a worse team when Hammond plays - but we do seem to be more likely to get a point or three.

I can see Adkins' problem.

That's a decent call.

Hammond isn't useless, he also isn't brilliant.
The problem for me with Hammond is he just isn't anywhere near good value for money - there's a lot better for a lot less money.

Same applies to brayford, although some of us said at the time he wasn't worth the money or transfer fee (for THIS division).

Doubt whether Billy is either - there is miles better in this division at much less wages - it is as though we daren't even go and look for them.

There is a reason why we continue to lose vast amounts of money and there are 3 players above that fit exactly into that category.

I think the plan would be to play both Hammond and Cuvelier at the expense of Reed or Flynn ,I would dispense of both of those and play Cuvelier-Hammond-Coutts with Brayford and Jcr or Flynn as the wingbacks depending on home or away.

Let's hope Woolford is out for the season and the way Flynn did fa at Rochdale , there's your 2 outs for Hammond to come in.

Miles better? Really? Yes, there are players who have scored more goals but wouldn't really call them miles better.

How anyone can say Billy hasn't been value for money is beyond me, he's been carrying this team for most of the season.

The real problem with Hammond is that we expected so much on his arrival. He was supposed to be the missing piece in our jigsaw. . . . Our midfield "messiah." If he'd have come in under the radar with half a dozen other new signings it might have suited him better. He might very well be a good player but we sure as hell haven't seen it

But also capitulated like helpless schoolgirls when the going got tough.
We did but the going got tough at about the same time as it does when Hammond is playing anyway. What we need to do is keep the positive tactics we used at Rochdale and hopefully get 2 or 3 goals up this would then enable the game to be a bit better managed.

Possibly. I'm not saying he must play, just that we saw both the advantages and the drawbacks of him being out of the side.

The problem with Hammond is that he has the look of a player to use an old term, and that is that his legs have gone.

Cant believe the Sharp statement.

Sitters - it isn't made out of malice and I posted it with reservation if I am honest, considering who it was.

We have LOST (apparently) 8 million quid this year - the greater majority from players wages, of which Billy (and a few others) are taking a large slice.

I accept that Billy is giving 100%, but the theme of the post was we cannot afford to keep gifting players lots and lots of cash in this division. There are better players at a lot less money.

The experiment has failed dramatically and I fear we are on the cusp of being very very poor for potentially a few more years.

The comment about Billy doesn't make me happy, in fact it makes me very sad that it hasn't worked out for United with him and others, but sooner or later, reality of ALL the mistakes we have made must be faced up to.

Being where we are hurts dramatically - it was my boys 26th birthday v Rochdale - we didn't want to go.........now that is sad. After the shit at HT v Donny, even my, normally unwavering support for my club is just ebbing away and after I heard about the shit at Rochdale, I am actually glad we didn't go.

I am once again ready for tonight v Burton - it's the next game...........Rochdales gone.............but why am I thinking of meltdown Wednesday if NC turns us over?

Quality not quantity is my first thought, I would get rid of at least 5 others to keep Billy Sharp. That's good economy in my eyes.
