It was never a red, some are describing it like that McEveley one against Cov but it was just a running barge. Deffo yellow, not sure the ref needed to charge over the way he did though, had he booked two of their players for awful late challenges prior to it then it wouldn't have flared up as bad.
Ref was running over that fast I thought he was going to chin him in some kind of Judge Dredd style instant justice.

Very fortunate to avoid a red for that late challenge. A great player and had a good game, but needed to calm it down there, we would regret losing him for three games. The ref should have booked a Watford player earlier which I think didn't help the game.
Fantastic challenge. Right thing in the spirit of the moment and one of the reasons why the crowd was up and why we WON.

Worst challenge all match was the one on Souza when he cleared and their lad left his boot in.

Strangely that guy afterwards was their main dragon warrior in all the wonderful little scuffles… 🥋🥊🤼‍♀️

I'm normally one who will say straight off the bat if we're fortunate not to get a red... but that was never a sending off in a 100 years.

Used his thigh to bodycheck the run which I dont think I've ever seen anyone get a straight red card for.

In all honesty those are the type of hard tactical fouls we need MORE of (as long as theyre not already on a yellow)... when teams come to Bramall Lane they should know that by the time they leave the pitch theyre gonna have some bumps and bruises on them.

I would have booked the Watford player for deliberately provoking Hamer by running past him with the ball. Then I would have given him a second yellow for rolling around on the floor like a little girl, at what was basically, a good natured barge. At that stage, it wouldn't have mattered a jot as Watford would have been down to 9 men already, with United 8-0 up.

And this is exactly why I would never be allowed to referee a Blades game.

Dictionary definition professional foul and yellow card. Pep teaches his team to do them on occasion and kill counter attacks dead - nothing to see here

Just seen it back and 100% agree, text book takes one for the team and correct decision in their half with players out of position.

The wind blew their player over.

That's what Gus tells me anyway.

Ball was still in play and ought to have been a penalty.
100%

What was needed, was a way for a ref to pick up on decisions the onfield ref missed, maybe using some sort of video technology…….😂

would have deffo be given, think the ref was so engrossed in blowing for half time he just missed it

VAR - sometimes you’re the pigeon, sometimes you’re the statue.
