The panacea that cures all ills.

How many companies with 8 figure turnovers that are one dodgy VAR decision (source - many idiot posters here) away from being a company with a 9 figure turnover do you know that have the COO and the head of HR be one and the same? Or is your dislike for the separation of powers just based on it not working in some instances elsewhere therefore it could never work for us?

Obviously a Harvard graduate
Villa sold Morgan Rogers, was that asset stripping.
Suggest you go back to school
How can you compare the two? The ROI on Rogers was crazy. Even though they had to pay Boro a substantial amount too.
We have got the bare minimum, and will not replace adequately, likely with another loan. A loanee isn't ours. So we're completely bereft of another asset. What don't you get about that?

No disrespect to Hamer but he'll be the one jogging back when Premier League midfielders run through Coventry. They've no chance of staying up and Lumpard will be jumping ship before Christmas

Its not asset stripping though is it. Its playing by the rules.

We're screwed. The teams that haven't spent much in last few years can chuck money at it.
That's the crux of it. You would have thought Hamer was one of our most saleable assets to generate significant funds (queue the "significant undisclosed fee" line in his departure announcement), however, we've got the bare minimum. Its a shame. Last summer royally was FUBAR.

Assett stripping :-

How Asset Stripping Works
    • Acquisition: An investor, private equity firm, or corporate raider buys a weak or cheap company.
    • Break-up: Valuable pieces of the business are sold off one by one because the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole company.
    • Payout: The cash made from selling assets goes to pay off debts or give large payouts to the new owners and shareholders
Come back when you know what you are talking about

This is the price of failure, the owners have put alot of money into the club but they have failed on a number of accounts. Over paying for Cannon, buying players from their mate, sacking Wilder, over paying on every player Selles wanted both on transfer fees and wages. We cant say they haven't put money in, they've just used it in the wrong way and this was always going to happen we the parachute money ended. We still have a strong first team and can probably still afford to lose Peck and Borrows from that. But it's the strength in depth that's the issue and that will ultimately end in failure again.
Less than 2 years into ownership so many mistakes ,it took the tuna king abit longer for all the shit to catch up with them ,not saying it's that dire for now ,but really not looking promising.

Are we? I thought we made a profit again in the last accounts? Then again I don't particularly follow the prs or whatever rules are now with a forensic detail!

As I have posted since about this time last year last summer's window will hurt us for years.

Is literally what I've said?
Brooks - sold - replaced by Donovan (not ours)
Hamer - sold - replaced by BBD (likely on loan).

As per Danny Hall's article, the funds generated from those sales are covering the shortfall....

Don’t know what you are talking about, go back to school, do not pass go. In between times total waste of time subsequently blocked

As is par for the course, the 3 promoted teams are more thank likely to be the 3 that are relegated.

Fixed it for you.
Not really. I’ve never said that.
What I have said is that a DoF changes nothing. We move from one model of decision making that has accountability to one that makes decisions with zero consequences because it’s always the coach that gets replaced. I’d be really fed up if we had a coach revolving door policy. No identity, just the next unproven foreign coach sliding in and then out again, in no time. Now they would be tedious.

the only people to blame for all of this mess is the owners… literally killed us last summer for years to come. Said nothing since and are hoping wilder can work some magic, then if it all goes wrong they’ll blame him. Until they move on we have nothing to come. They have absolutely no clue about football.

They will only move on if:

A. We are promoted.
Or
B. We are skint and they asset strip us.

They have committed too much money to just walk away.

I’ve got no truck with a model that has multiple people in responsible roles. It just needs to be backed up with the appropriate infrastructure. Adding one person as a DoF without that changed the needle not one iota. Sheffield United has always been run with a lean staff because it’s allus been skint.

Yours wasn't £500 was it?
For me and 2 adult kids was £1200. We don’t live in Sheffield either so the time and money invested is quite something. Our favourite players last season Gus Brooks and Seriki. Watched a lot of the Cup matches last night and today safe to say everyone of the Champ sides were better than we are. Can’t see a lot of cheer at the moment let’s pray for a good week next week but I won’t hold my breath.

We saw some good stuff from him. He shone in a sub optimal last season where the performance bar wasn't particularly high.

Good luck to him.

Decent in his day or in an ever more occasional moment, but won't live long in the memory or be a club great.

It appears we have problems heading down the tracks at an alarming rate now.

I admit it's not looking too rosey at the minute, but once Gus has been sold it may set the wheels in motion. Hopefully Souttar is first through the door 👍
