I know I read into stuff like this maybe a bit too much, but he has started to like a lot of Coventry players post on Instagram. I would understand if it was players he has played with, but the posts he's liking are for e.g. carl rushworth, bobby thomas and milan van ewijk

Why would he be doing that!

A lot of players do it, Oli Mac still likes 90% of the stuff we put on and any players that move to us, Same with Egan and didzy it’s just same as what we do on social media, I wouldn’t read too much into it matey

No need to apologise, I'll come back here when he's gone for £5m next week.

Also Wonderwall was top of the charts last month.
If he's gone for £5m don't waste your time as I won't be here. I'll have retired from my role as Blades Supporting Mug

To get out of a sinking ship who'd blame him !!.

We were pretty crap last season, in fact we stunk most of it. Gus was part of that crapness and contributed accordingly. Enigmatic player who can do a bit when he fancies it but the magic moments are far too few. He didn't really influence many games and his pettiness and disciplinary frailty were there for all to see.

He has his moments, seems like a nice kid but he's not fit to lace Illy's (Judas) boots. If we get decent cash for him great, if we use it to get some energy onboard, even better.

ADDICTION. Probably 90% of the population are addicted to their phones.

Do we ? Really ?
Not since McCabe left.

But we hardly ever make a profit on a player ,
Our trouble is paying too high for duds that don't develop , don't grow in value , either to the team or in £ terms ,
for whom we end up with feck all when they run their contract down.

I’m surprised how many people seem to think we can afford to let Hamer go for free next year if the best offer we get is £5m.

We’ve got ourselves in a terrible negotiating position and so we will have to sell him this summer.

Option b would be keeping him and effectively choosing to write-off his wages + the refused transfer fee for one season of football. No player at this level is worth anything like £6-7m for a year (which for context is probably equivalent to more than half of our annual gate receipts).

Agree with this, it’s nailed on he won’t be here at the start of the season. I don’t particularly like Wilder but he won’t be entirely to blame for the poor season ahead, the squad we will have left is just not going to be good enough. Years of awful decisions (some by wilder himself) really have left us in the shit. They were discussing management on talksport yesterday and saying old school management of a club doesn’t work anymore and coaches should coach while good staff sort out the running of the club, we have neither of those a Wilder that doesn’t think players should have to be coached and no good staff running football operations. Wrexham have poached Newcastle’s head of recruitment they’re setting themselves up in the background to succeed, we just seem to let wilder sort these things ‘erm I’ll see if Jamie Hoyland fancies it’ no thought whatsoever.
I think we’ll be mid to lower table this year it’s next year I think these decisions will really bite us.

Very much agree with this.

I’ve said it on here before, but I don’t think we have a long term plan or strategy to take the club forward.

Yes, we have an academy but beyond that we seem to be short term, almost opportunistic, in our approach.

Off the field our decision making over the years has been poor and I do think we are going to see more clubs, with less resources, being more progressive and successful than we are.

I Hear you my issue is how much of the £5m would be reinvested in new players. Hamer goes how do we replace with better or on par?

I think the plan from the prince and now the new owners is getting to the PL to attract new investors or a sale.
Which in both instances mean more cash injections and potentially more infrastructure improvements too. Gotta get there first and stay.

I'm not saying I want us to be like a Wrexham with their TV stuff. But you look at what they've done actually on the pitch and improvements to their facilities and it's incredibly fast.

But to not be punished by the spending rules they are managing to get some good investors in there on top of the main two.

It's not the only way to do it but can we take any ideas off them? Not a TV show that's not what I mean but more so investments?

But then again the exposure on Disney is probably one reason they get these investors....

You can’t replace directly or on a par in our position so have to do something different, and that should be a proper winger with pace who will take full backs on imo

Abdul Abdulmalik from Boreham Wood. We need to get this lad in. They have rejected an offer of a million already. This kid is going to be very good. Fast, can dribble, very good in a one-on-one scenario with the ability to take on the player. Can cross and also can finish.

He would be an absolute steal for even 2 million!

If we are able to sell Hamer and invest in some potential, I will happily live with that. I accept his goal contributions are always good, but his propensity for a booking does my nut in. I'd be looking 7m and then all that straight back in with the likes of Abdulmalik and Moylan (though I accept the latter has already gone.)
