It's fun to chat and gossip. But parroting fake In-The-Know claims (J.Ramble a prime example) is timewasting/misleading for others and a bit embarrassing at times.Yep it seems very unlikely that any domestic reporting is going to unveil any targets significantly ahead of time. You’re either going to get domestic reporting very late in the transfer process ie when a player is actually being booked in for medicals etc which is when a wider range of staff will know and are likely to tell people. Or you’ll get stuff leaking out from agents both foreign and domestic but sifting what’s real intel from drumming up interest in their players is a fools errand.
Still it’s fun to chat and speculate about and fills the time until the season begins. Not signing a player we’ve randomly been linked to shouldn’t be seen as a lack of ambition or intent though as who knows what are and aren’t legitimate links.
Judge the window on its merits and then criticise away if we haven’t done sufficient business
People need to understand context/bias/motivation for things they read online.
