Hopefully not ‘slow & unathletic’ otherwise it’s another nail in the coffin of our scouting department, because that’s what we appear to have.
In the interests of balance, I thought we looked far better against Bochum with Rothwell and Arblaster than Peck and Jairo.
Though a half-time rocket might have also played a part in the improvement.

Used to play off the left quite a lot, when he was quick. Then settled into what was usually a left side CM role

He became increasingly productive with goals and assists but was rarely used as a 10
Increasingly productive? Maybe with assists, but goals he got 11 in 161

I actually see some methods to the madness, if we're keeping Peck🤭, which i think we will, then Rothwell will be pushed forward to an attacking midfielder, he's creative enough, and i think it limits his need to be so defensively minded which in turn limits his game.
Rothwell worries me he gives the ball away so much and we dont need to be that loose with the ball. Simple passes missing the target. I dont mind if these are defence splitting through balls but sideways 10 meter passes going astray. Concerns for me

And yet despite that you jumped up little shit, we've spent just about double the time in the highest league, 63 seasons compared to your 34! You are a nothing club that has to manufacture rivalries with every club because nobody gives a shit about you, look at your lot coming on other teams boards. I repeat, non descript city with a sweet of deluded fans that would give them at s6 a run for their money. See you next season.
Mate you've spat your sausage roll all over your fleece with that outburst

It will be interesting where he plays for you.

Wilder still found a position where he got more goals and assist combined than he did at Coventry and in fewer matches.

He scored 18 goals and 25 assists in the league for us (inc PL) and 17 goals and 25 assists (Champ only) for Cov.

In fact he contributed a Goal or assist every 194 mins for us overall and 174 mins if you look at just the Championship whereas it was 229 mins with Coventry.

He’s done well for us. Better than he did with his prior club. It will be interesting if he is as effective second time around in the top flight.
The difference is when Hamer was with us we had Hamer and Gyokeres and that was about it. They carried us with their play.

When we sold them we bought our present side and squad with the money. Hamer won't be 1st choice with us, but he will have better players around him than he has with you. He will be playing in the middle where he is at his best.

And as usual a very good player for a club becomes a not very good player for different reasons once the player leaves.

Player of the season last season blah blah. Suddenly no tracking back, poor at tackles and too many bookings. How many cards last season and how many games .missed through suspensions?

Seems to be some talk of a deal 6m +2m add ons being agreed and Hamer not playing tomorrow.

Guess we’ll see. On that basis, it seems Leicester were more determined to keep Souttar as he’s already played in the League Cup today.

How do we feel about that figure?

It’s not undeniably his best position though is it?

See this is what irks about Coventry fans, insisting on his best position. That’s just your view. It’s not fact.

He had better output with Sheffield United where Wilder picked him. That is a fact. 174 mins per contribution vs 229 mins in the Championship and he didn’t have Gyokeres next to him. Even then I’m not insistent upon it. He’s good in a couple of positions. That’s it.

Anyway, he goes with my best wishes. I haven’t dissed him at all. He’s been a good player for us in recent years, not as outstanding as Iliman Ndiaye but probably the next one in recent times and he always gave 100% and you can’t ask more.

When in the middle he can go either left or right. You had him mainly on the wing so he could only go right. He is better hitting crosses in from the right than left.

We will see next season when he is up against a better quality of opposition.

Hamer wasnt POTY last season. He was bang average / poor all season, with the odd moment of magic. Provided Coventry give us £5.5m then you are welcome to him.

No idea how many cards or games missed through suspensions...most SUFC fans werent particularly counting, as we tended to look better as a side when he wasnt playing.

Enjoy the PL. Pride really does come before a fall. I and a lot of Blades fans will be watching how you go and smiling over the season. Oh, and VAR. 😉

Hamer got the most assists in the Championship last season.

You clearly know more than a Chris Wilder who saw him every day in training and who has won the PL manager of the year previously, and helped Hamer win the Championship player of the year the season before last - playing on the left.

Yep, you clearly know better than us who have been watching him for the last 3 years. Fountain of knowledge Coventry fans. That or they are just very arrogant and about to have a serious wake up call.

Maybe he did ? Wasnt counting. But by his own standards from the previous season, he was still very very average.

Whilst a nice player (when he fancies it), the bottom line was that he was still very much part of the United team that had us rock bottom with no points under Selles, and then helped us finish at the giddy heights of 13th place. No player at SUFC did themselves justice last season, including Hamer. At times, id gladly have shot the lot of em!

You're like one of them cunts who starts playing his guitar at parties

Respect? Yet again you are on our forum, clown. I know cov is that boring but surely you have something else to do, like go and play on a motorway.
Go easy on him; he's had a tough life. Not only does he waste his life by spending all Saturday in bed with a woman, he was conceived on Helvellyn.

He was top for assists according to Sky who just broadcast that info about 30 minutes ago. It is a surprise given his mid season yellow card suspension and the fact we were poor overall last year.
