Have a look. I've been coming on here for a long time. Like to chat about our games with decent people who like the same. Was always made to feel welcome when you were the team going places and we were struggling. That's changed now.

Now I'm just here for any Hamer news. My club doesn't release any information at all these days. We have to get all of our info from elsewhere.

Don't worry. Once the transfer is done you won't hear from me until we play each other again.
That will be a lot sooner than you all think.

Sell him. He's 29, in the final year of his contract and he wants to go. If it's £6 million, then so be it.

Losing £45 million annually leaves a big hole. Fortunately Wilder knows how to polish rough diamonds.
Aye especially when it inflates his bank balance every time he fails,

We can only guess the details. Nothing will come from our club at all.

Maybe the 6m is the fee after taking into consideration the last payment to be made. Nearly 10m sounds a more fair price. I know he was in his last year of his contract, but he was also in his last year when you bought him.
It's been paid, amortisation is for the books and is different to a payment plan which is what goes off over a contract length

I did say you owed us £5m but I've been I've told it's only £3.75m so we got him for £2.25m plus add ons.
Enjoy your derby v Mansfield today.
Don't bother replying iam fucking off now, might pop in at Xmas to say hi.
Good morning Divkid. Enjoy the rest of the school holidays, good luck in year 7 in September.

All the Coventry fans and seemingly some of our fans seem to have been in the room for the negotiations when we bought him, so they know exactly what’s still owed.

Either that or people just like talking nonsense and believing it to be correct.

Like I posted before you can’t come in to another teams forum and expected rose petals thrown in front of you

also as one of the highest paid players frees up wages

Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer earns an estimated salary of £30,000 per week , which equates to a fixed gross annual salary of£1,560,000

that pays for 6 5k a week players or 3 10k a week

But it’s not the year 2000 anymore.

The average championship wage is now 14/15,000.

Selling one of the best players in the league frees up the wages for two bang average ones. We are not getting 6 passable championship players in his place.

I think it’ll go some way into bridging the gap in finances atm with Gus going and the final payments of his wages and transfer fee owed we are £5+ million better off based on figures thrown around £30k wages and £3.75 left over of fee ( I appreciate there’s far more debt)

I understand when you’re desperate you do desperate things, and football fans just want the best for their club. We’ve been there, many times, and even a very good book - Fit and Proper, check it out it’s an excellent read - written about our litany of dubious chairmen.

However what pissed us off about your protest is that it affected the football and almost cost us a very important victory. We had no part to play in your situation, but it almost costs us. At the time it was 1-1 and we were pushing hard for a winner and on top. The break in play was not what we needed at that time, however we did manage to get the winner, but you didn’t give it to us.

Charlton had a similar protest that season. They disrupted the game by throwing tennis balls on the pitch after one minute of play. It got the attention of the wider football world but didn’t affect the result on the pitch.
Doing it with 5 minutes to go could have. Our fans fully supported Charlton with their protest. As I said, we’d been there many times.
You may have been there before, but try playing your home games outside of Sheffield twice because of your owners and getting points deductions because they wanted to get out of the contracts for what should have been your own home ground.

And as I reminded you our protesting gifted you the winning goal. I could understand if it had cost you but it didn't. It gave you the win.

Hamer aside, and I totally get why he wants a move. He almost went to Leeds last year but they’ve moved on.

But one real quick question. What are you doing here on a Sheff U forum? Genuinely tried to work out why, and I can’t.

Thank f**** for that

He was top for assists according to Sky who just broadcast that info about 30 minutes ago. It is a surprise given his mid season yellow card suspension and the fact we were poor overall last year.
He was and without wishing to downplay that stat
We wanted the game disrupting just like the others. We've weren't interested in winning. We were after a response from the FA as well as trying to put pressure on our owners. If the game had got abandoned you would have got the 3 points and our owners would have got a fine. It would have put it on the back page of the newspapers.

The problem was...and still is....there's supposed to be a fit and proper test. But there's constantly bad owners taking over clubs. The FA turns a blind eye and just continues.

Now you have a bad owner. If he takes you lower you will start to understand. You will see the football community sticks together. If you reach the stage of having to protest you will see that you're not alone.
You disrupted the game.every time we got near your end

We got the winner despite your protest, not because of it.
We aren’t being wise after the event because it ended well. It was the wrong thing to do at that time.
If you’d have done it in the first 10 minutes you would have probably got a lot of support from us, as Charlton fans did.

Absofuckinglutely.

It was like a party atmosphere every time they went on the attack but the moment we stepped over half way the disruptions started. Whistling, throwing shit on to the pitch.

We wanted to play a game of football and get the 3 points we needed. Cov fans did everything they could to prevent it.

Once we’d won they then gave it the big-un as we all left trying to start trouble because we’d had the audacity to try and win.

They’d have had some support and sympathy had they done it pre/post game or consistently throughout the game at appropriate points but they didn’t.

Now the insufferable cunts have a totally inaccurate recollection to tally up with their favourite pass time of forcing rivalries with clubs that couldn’t give a flying fuck about their shithole of a city.

You have had a horrendous time over the last few years ....
I dont begrudge you a moment in the sun
Good luck .

Every club has their fair share of knuckle draggers mate , us included .

Thanks.

Either our new signings are going to be as good as they look or it isn't going to be much fun. But at least our younger supporters, those in their low 30's and younger, will get the chance to see top players thrashing us in some great stadiums.

I hope you get your ownership problems sorted out. Ours ended up with our supporters fighting with each other when we decided to boycott our games and some refused to boycott when we were playing at Northampton.

Horrendous playing in Northampton
Its like us playing in Mansfield.
I think you go down , however i hope you stay up .
The elite need to be dismantled.
Id love to see Everton or Bournemouth go down .
Good luck mate 👍
We are not all bitter

was one of highest paid players so long term thats quite a saving

but preferable to getting nothing next may 6m + 2m in add ons , and clearing the 2m they said we still owed them so 10m possibly
That's not how it works, if we do owe 2m then we'll receive 4m, add one will be based on them staying up so I doubt we'll see them.

Thanks.

He wished you luck mate he didn't ask for another one of your boastful monologoues

Who fuckin cares? Seriously, who fuckin cares?

Enjoy your season in the promised land. You'll need a lot more better players than Gus to even be mid table in the Premier League. After twenty odd years out of the top league, there's no sentiment or "welcome back Coventry City ". It's absolutely brutal and if you do manage to stay up, you'll have earned it.

Constantly watching the same sides going up and back down tells a story.

But Hamer won't be in our 1st team. Guess he is 3rd best for his position. Lampard has put a strong midfield together. We beat teams like Milan and Arsenal for our last signing because he wants to play.

Nobody cares about you.

Go away.

Thanks for answering the question.

There are a few Coventry new members who have joined recently who seem to have real issues with us. I understand why Hamer would move to you guys, it makes sense. I don’t hate Coventry, either. To be honest, I’m fairly natural about you guys but I did always like Gordon Strachan.

You might be back down by then & Fat Frank will be back at Chelsea 🤞

Both sides have their idiots and those taking the p1ss. I don't have a problem with it as was always made to feel welcome before.

Hamer has been in Coventry with our supporters. He has lost weight and in good shape which was a nice surprise. Even his face looks thinner. A big reason we did so well last season was our fitness levels. We scored a lot of late goals against sides that were knackered.

He won't go back to Chelsea again. More chance of becoming England manager in a couple of years if we do well.

We won't sack him if we get relegated. He stated we were a good project when he joined us and is enjoying himself in one of the safest jobs in football. We've only had 2 managers in the last 9 and half years. He could leave then get the sack 6 months later.

Wasn’t really looking for an update on Gus or Cov fans or what anyone was up to this afternoon 🤷🏻‍♂️

Enjoy the season.

You mean the truth where, in that said game, you were blowing your whistles every time the Blades attacked, but conveniently kept them out of your gobs every time Coventry attacked?
100% this.

It was cheating - plain and simple and I'll never forgive you for it. I don't care how bad your owners were.
