I heard from a source I'll not divulge, but nothing to do with United that he's very fit, but has been blessed (cursed?) naturally with a larger amount of fast twitch muscle fibres than you'd normally get in a footballer, making him more like a sprinter or powerlifter than an endurance athlete. There's not much you can do about that other than play to your strengths

I got a lift in a taxi by a Blade the day before the derby. He told me the team and subs for the game and said he knew Gus's nutritionist. I resisted the urge to 🤣 at the mention of nutritionist..

Worryingly if Bamford leaves he’ll be our main source of goals.
Couldn't agree more.
And knowing us we'll let him go rather than pay him what he's worth.
He's shown he still has it. He gets in the right place at the right time. Something our current crop are incapable of doing.
Letting him go will be the difference between comfortable mid table safety and being involved in a relegation scrap.

For all his faults, there’s zero chance we get a better player as a replacement.

Best hope is we have someone that fits into our system/team better, but individually more talent - forget it.

If we get a bit more space between ourselves and 22nd before the back end of January, I’d be inclined to sell. We’ll need to cut costs and raise funds in the summer, so if we can get 8-10m in the coffers ahead of that then it would be right time to move on.

I wonder how close we were to actually selling him to Leeds on transfer deadline day, if you believed anyone in that neck of the woods the medical was done and contracts were being sorted

Get what we can which will be a lot less than what we paid.
Between 5-10 million if were lucky.
Can do a lot with that money ! Bring it on !!
You still owe money for him as it was over 3 years. And also we get 10% of whatever he is sold for. You will need to get at least 10m for him for it to be worthwhile.

I'd get rid. Ask yourself why he's never played for an established Premiership team.
He's not playing for an established Premiership team. He might not be one of the best Premiership players but he's one of the best Championship players. You're a Championship side.

Am I missing something here?

Don't knock a pizza place or kebab house ...I've worked longer than he has to get shirts ironed on a wok.

He's not one of the best Championship players. He's capable of some of the best moments, but that's it.

Yes
humility and Inteligence

I think the overweight comments are a bit unfair. He just has that stocky body type. He doesn't look out of shape to me on the field.

No you are wrong.

We lost, so it's a pile on.

Sadly, it's what we do these days.

What have you done to him?
He stood out in a pretty poor Coventry side. It was a low bar. We were spoiled by having the likes of Ndiaye, Gibbs-White and McAtee. Gus is a long way below their standards, and was when he was with you. Plus he isn’t very fit these days. I can understand Coventry fans of 2-3 years ago being dazzled by him, but we’ve had much better in recent years.
