Just heard on Talksport that next season there is a report in the Times newspaper that grounds will be restricted to a third of their full capacity.

How is that going to work then that is going to cause more havoc for the clubs isn't it?

Surely they should just operate at full capacity or not at all.

Why would it? Treat it as a large away allocation based on loyalty points, or, even less complicated, 10k season tickets based on loyalty points. Sell 1 seat in 3 and tell fans to remain in their alloted seats with face masks on, tell fans turnstiles will be shut 15 mins before KO and enforce it.

The premier league shut down before the Government advice was to do so and I trust them to take the right Scientific advice on bringing Crowds back. (Rather than listening to government) however I can’t see it working, most stadium concourses aren’t wide enough for social distancing and how are the going to manage everyone leaving at the same time at the final whistle? You can’t have more than one family group on each row without everyone having to move when someone want a pie or toilet.

Fairest way would be a ballot of current season ticket holders Where who ever is drawn out gets first refusal on a ticket.

but I’m sure they will go down the easy route of loyalty points and once again those who go to away games and contribute to the coffers of our rivals will get first dibs.

Fairest way in my opinion would be to offer tickets in blocks of two or three games and each member can buy one ticket in that block of games so every member gets a chance of going to one in three games. Use the points system to prioritise

The club allocates the seats to ensure social distancing . If you want to sit with a group use the family and friends system and order atthe same time. You just have to choose to either sit at the side of the pitch or behind one of the goals and the club sort out and post out the tickets.

Turnstiles to close 15min before kick off and wherever you sit will decide which turnstile, toilet facilities and exit you use

I think the club will give all current season ticket holders a chance to renew and then you go on a rota basis. That way the club gets everyone’s money again and fans don’t miss out. If they limit it to just loyalty points, they would only be the allowed to sell the reduced capacity. Whereas 25000 season ticket holders on a rota basis will equal more money for the club.

Hmm. Yeah I suppose it reduces the capacity but it certainly doesn't reduce the risk of the spread. I mean during the match they can distance but before and after the whistle it's just going to be a free for all.

10k x £30 is better than £0

I would scrap season tickets next season. Put this current season tickets/points on hold. Home fans only. Do each game as a lottery. no food/drink. All games televised for a subscription fee (the ones outside of the current agreements) It's the only fair way to do it.

Why is that the easy route?

Should my cousin get a ticket who's got his first season ticket since our last Premier League campaign over me, who has had a ST and attended away games for 23 years?

Fairest way to do it would be a rotation system. If only 10k people sign up - they can attend every game. If 20K sign up, every other game

They have everyones customer numbers. Ballot 10k of them for every home game.

Delay season tickets for a year. So if you bought one for 20-21, it is instead valid for 21-22.

Give everyone a chance to attend.
Provided whichever wins on the first ballot isnt included in the next one ? Otherwise some fans may never obtain a ticket via a ballot system

Yeah selfishly I would like it to be a first come first serve but the fans with the most loyalty points deserve to get first choice of tickets, it is only fair. That being said perhaps they could put aside some tickets that can go on general sale as it's entirely possible that a number of those with the highest points may still feel it's too dangerous to head out or be part of a crowd etc.

Perhaps they should just leave the system as it is now, where each passing day allows those with less loyalty points to buy a ticket and maybe stick a couple thousand seats aside for general sale.

Yep it's not as simple as gap between where people sit. A proper nightmare to work it out. Weird lack of atmosphere too. Imagine trying to get a chant going when the people 4 seats down can't be arsed!

Even at 33% stadium capacity the toilets will be a total farce.

Assume they’ll be bouncers on the entrances/ exits enforcing 1 in 1 out.
They’ll hardly let anyone in...so the queues in the concourse areas will be massive. It will be absolute chaos.

In fact they might need to close down the toilets....that means no pre match or in match drinks.
You might even see the sight of men pissing against the wall in the concourse areas.....it will be worse than the 80’s

The logical thing to do would be to allow family groups in, i.e people who are registered at the same address.
if it’s loyalty points based I could go but my kids probably couldn’t.

Here's scenario. Under a lottery type system, Blade A attended X amount of games. 60% were won, 30% drawn, 20% lost.
Blade B attends the same amount but different matches which all end in defeat bar one which is drawn.
Would Blade B be able to claim unfair treatment? Could B expect compensation? If so, Arr much? And from who(m).

Everybody back or nobody.

The Problem with that is some fans could end up going to all the games and some could end up not going to any.

I think the only fair way is some kind of giant battle royale situation. Children and over-65's can send a champion of their choosing.

This is what i mean it is a complete and utter nightmare logistically.

Yes, if you have the opportunity but turn it down, then you get a chance when your numbers are revisited.
