Anyone else couldn't care less if we have a screen or not?! Or am I just a cantankerous bugger?

I'm not bothered either way. It depends what they put on the screen i suppose.

suppose it'll be something to watch whilst Morgs & Killa are putting the ball into orbit on it's way up to Hendo

hey ho

>hey ho
heh.. quality.. at least now they could put the grand national on at the same time

As I read the thread, I couldn't help think about the t-shirt I saw someone wearing at the last match I went to. It had the slogan "Against Modern Football" around a picture of an old leather ball.

That's how I feel.

Looking at that picture has reminded me - why are three of the gangways on the JSS far end green?

I think it signifies the family area. Something along those lines anyway.

Supposed to be an area where swearing is banned. Getting caught should lead to being thrown out of the ground.

The screens generally show the tv view of the game being played, with ad's inbetween. Also show's replays, which should get the kop going if the ref's make a mistake.

That's my take on what it will be used for anyway, based on the ones used at St Marys!

Yeah, but he means he's recorded it to watch when he gets home and doesn't want the suspense spoiling.

I agree. Will it really improve bramall lane or is a big screen seen as a modern must have? Reminds me of an idiot at work who bought his wife an ipod last year for her birthday... They dont even own a pc but he didnt want to feel left out. It's sat in a box for the past year unused.

Shite waste of money if you ask me...

I tend to buy every gadget going, but this seems to be pointless. We have a scoreboard that we can't even get the correct ratio on so god knows what we'll get on the TV screen.

Hey perhaps it'll show the Adult channel...

Simple solution, employ someone capable of working the bloody thing... or just gimme a shout before kickoff! :)

They're only allowed to show replays of goals etc, not of fouls or 'mistakes'.
I remember a team getting fined a few years since (Leeds I believe) for showing an incident that got the crowd going (bad challenge I believe)

nah robbie it was spurs, showed a dissalowed goal and the crowd went mad.

to be fair - it sounds like a big job but putting up the actual video screen isn't an isse at all - obviously roadies/techies have to dismantle and re-build AV screens at big arean gigs all the time...it's getting the wiring in place that will have took the most time. Still fairly sure it'll be "up" for wednesday...

...can't see the screboard fella getting much practise time with it though....

Getting a HDMI cable long enough to reach to the command centre could be a bit expensive :)

called at the Lane yesterday (still no Junior size home shorts for my lad).

Had a peak through the gate between Bramall Lane end and The New South Stand - the scaffolding is erected, crane on site, they'd put up the rectangular frame ready, I suppose, to offer up the screen. It is attached to, or in front of, the business centre angled between the Kop and NSS. I thought that there was a police control room in there these days - would appear to obscure that !

Wont be a great view from BLUT !

Took these when I nipped to the gym earlier. I’d say it definitely won’t be up for tomorrow but you can see the size of the screen and the position of it from the pics.
