Just a nod that we'll be getting Darlington's video screen installed in the corner with the offices in time for the Wednesday match apparently!

 most bizarre transfer of the season?

Because Darlington had a rich owner who bought them the V. Screen but the rest of the ground was still crap - they're now in need of money and - i'm guessing now - we've offered to take it off them at a fraction of the price of a new one.

A v. Screen would do wonders for our World Cup bid and would be quite pleasing on the eye for fans i can assume...hence it all seems like good business to me...

24ft or summat...

What is more worrying is that Darlington had one before us!

I always thought we would get one when we got promoted. Does anyone know why we didn't, because most of the other 'promoted' teams seem to have one?

I heard this earlier on in the summer that we had bought it off the administrator but I thought it was so bizarre I didn't post!

Think highbury was the first place to get one. But yeah everybody and their mothers seem to have one apart from the clubs in Sheffield

I think it's one of those 'finally' moments.

Although i'm not quite sure how they are going to mount it in that corner!

Should be just safe enough by the offices . Hulse on a good day would still have wrecked it by half time .

How bizarre :)

Will the stuff that's shown on it look as cock as the screen we currently have? Where they haven't quite worked out the aspect ratios of the adverts they're trying to show, but pop them up regardless?

I just told a Wednesday fan at work this, and he suggested that we could fit more fans in our stadium if we opened up the middle of the pitch. He pointed out that it wouldn't have any effect on the football played on it.

Even though he's a pig, I did find this pretty amusing. I countered by telling him that they could sell more tickets if their stadium wasn't shit, their team awful and their fans a bunch of wankers. I think that was game, set and match to me.

If the Screen is anything like the Official website then we will be watching 2year old match highlights filmed upside down and with comentary over the tannoy for a different match all together.

(If it was Barnsley getting a screen they would just show every goal we conceed on a loop :D )

I hope it isn't used as a glorified advertising hoarding like the scoreboard at the Bramall Lane end. It's so distracting looking from the Kop.

That's a good thing ,puts The lane up there with all the big sports teams have a big screen .I don't know why this wasn't done long before now.

Been looking forward to seeing one of these at the lane as the puny scoreboard is shocking!
Believe were supposed to be getting one for the kop when thats done too arnt we?

It was on the original plans... but seems to have disappeared from later computer images. Whether by design or accidental omission, I don't know :)

I think you're right about Highbury, but they suffered the ignominy of having the words to their songs put up on the screen for them to sing along to. Mind you, if they put one in at Hillsborough they'll have to have a big finger to run along and point to each word..!

Put one of those 'scare' videos on when the opposing team are attacking that end. Or a distracting image of a scantily clad young lady (ahem). Worth a try.

Are we sure we didn't have it already on Tuesday night? Benno seemed to be distracted

Still curious on this one. Was looking on Saturday and really don't know how they'll fit a screen in the corner without blocking office windows off or taking up seats. Surely the main USP of the Enterprise Centre was that you'd be able to look out on to the pitch from your office window.

All I can think is that it would maybe go right in the corner between the two roofs.

Anyone notice how much of the advertising has been removed from the Streetwise Corner too?

That's probably because it will be being sponsored by a new company and the signage wasn't ready in time...

Whats that grey bit? Is that where they have removed seats? Maybe its going to stand there.

Didnt notice the grey bit before.
