Anybody remember when the Hofbrauhaus used to have strippers on Saturday dinnertime?

It was something like 5p to get in. The place was packed till about 2.45 then everybody piled out and headed to The Lane.
I do remember and I also remember the strippers were not of the highest calibre.

The Sunday dippers in The Hermitage were a regular post Sunday morning football experience circa 85 for some.

1230 and 130 performances with many a Bladesman being spotted in there. And don't say you were just there for the Wards....

Mind you not the place you want to bump into your Grandad!

Funny though that when you're twenty you wouldn't look twice at most forty year old women whereas now I'd think 'result'.

Well you say that, but when I was around that age, we sometimes went in the Golden Ball in town after work on a Saturday lunchtime. Sometimes there was this woman in who must have been around 40 at the time, very nice.

Robert Bradys staff were always fit.

Indeed they were, this lass was a customer (maybe an office worker the way she dressed). If I'd have been five years older....................I'd still have been too fucking ugly ;)

I seem to remember a Terminator Pinball Machine in the Golden Ball around that time, it was ace.

Which one of you was stripping?

Best pinball ever was the Adams Family one! (Just beating Twilight Zone)

Actually yes, that was a really good one. It's gone now, but the other week there was one of those "Pop Up" things in Bridlington, some great old pinball machines, the really old ones before they all went electronic scoreboards and stuff. I love things like that, old arcade stuff.

Edit: It wasn't the other week, the place shut ages ago, just felt like "the other week". Two things are going rapidly, time and my memory!

There are still a few around believe it or not.

Working one in Filey when I took my granddaughter !

Recently went to this little museum near Hull Marina, inside there was one of those old Shooting Galleries with the targets going down is size the further away they got. Fantastic (still a crap shooter though!!)

Dee speak fo di sen.
You didnt go to Roxys Thursday night then?
No, apart from when they did that rock night in the eighties but even if I had, I'd have been twenty odd then. So I wouldn't have been interested. Well, I might have been...

Higdon went with Sammon last week.

Gallery owner's funeral is next Tuesday.

now then lads

Its thirty years on

But does anywhere do dippers at any time?

I live a long way away now, had wives and miss Warrds and Stones.

I get home every 6 weeks or so and can't turn out for The Cross Guns anymore...

However may be able to slip out for a quick performance.

Mind you like Wards, Stones, The Pump and Premiership football I bet there isn't a decent show back home?

Prove me wrong and there maybe a wimbledon away ticket..

I dragged myself out of bed at 7am when I heard the local paper falling on my door mat, as I expected the Blades were on the headlines of both front & back pages.

Shame on You
says the front page, describes how the police had to be drafted in, with many of the so-called fans taking on the police because they couldn't get to the Grimsby fans.
They looked like a herd of wildebeest said one onlooker, while another had her car windscreen shattered, the bar owners lost hundreds of £'s but I'm not sure if they took into account the money they made before they had to close.
A comparison was made between the Blades fans & the similar number of aging mods who took over the same bars during a scooter rally a few weeks previously.

Blades Prove Too Sharp
Says the back page, the promotion favourites put on a better show than Hull as the Blades quality shone through.

PS not sure if it was mentioned on here previously but there manager Paul Hurst was Sheffield born & a life long Owls supporter who desperately wanted to win this one, he also played against us while at Rotherham.

I am pretty sure that of all the strange days I have had following the Blades, I have never thought of any of us as being like a herd of wildebeest.

Who knows what happens when you get over to Lincolnshire.

A
And 50 year old woman would be a result for me:)

The older I've got the older have been the women I've fancied, no problem when you're 40, 50, 60. The thought that I'll be slavvering over some 70 year old in a few years fills me with absolute dread

Aye, imagine taking her from behind as she holds on to her Zimmer frame.
