So if Harry maguire left us in these circumstances we would still play tonight?
Not looking for an argument it’s not what I’m after it just seems wrong
Theres no perfect outcome in this situation I guess I’m just gutted that it feels so unfair.
 
We wouldn’t be playing if it was us v panathinaikos would we? That’s the point it’s too sensitive to the clubs involved - hence why his teammates shouldn’t be out there tonight
 
I want England to win but I’m less bothered than usual.

Watching Pickford is so different to watching Cooper in goal.

Pickford might be a great shot stopper but he doesn’t seem to know whether to stay on his line or come off it. Also Pickford punching is unconvincing and he keeps finger pointing (Vini style) at his defenders,l looking panicky.

Where as Cooper is always so cool and calm.

That wasn't the point my point was as an English person my allegiance lies with England, and as a united fan my allegiance lies with united , so whilst yesterdays events are tragic , it doesn't make me want Greece to beat England in the same way it wouldn't make me want panathinaikos to beat united, so I was genuinely interested as to someone elses opinion

You've not asked Boxer but I feel the need to elaborate! First there's the fans. The booing of every other teams national anthem, the lack of respect is embarrassing. There's the years of going abroad and causing trouble in other countries. Not saying it's the majority by any means but it's enough that it makes all the wrong headlines.

Then there's the English divide. As a proud northerner it feels in my lifetime we're almost considered second class citizens in the north, ruled by Westminster and too often in the interests of the south east and that's not to say I'm anti south but there's a definite north south divide that if anything has got bigger of late. I relate to being northern more than English, I particularly feel British over English.

Then of lesser importance is how the FA have appointed Southgate who I felt did not merit being the England manager, as good as he did in early years. After he went I was hoping for a manger that was inspiring but it just feels like they're desperate for Carsley to succeed so they can give it to him.

As for tonight it will be nice for Greece to show their appreciation to George and to dedicate the win to him.

I think Hendo will play for England but there's a few decent goalkeepers out there who are in contention. Pickford has largely done well in fairness.

Were you not the piece who wrote that kids wearing ear protectors were to blame for the poor atmosphere at matches?? And now you are here trying to be an arse for attention 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Isn’t the point of a national team that it’s supposed to be national, unite the whole country behind one team? Even in war torn countries like Syria and Iraq, the whole country unites around the team when they play. Famously, Drogba and Cote d’Ivorie made an entire country stop fighting a civil war. It shows that despite all those differences, the country unites behind the team. Besides, there’s a ton of Northern lads on the team nowadays.

Wanting less violence amongst traveling fans is a good thing, but considering Greek fans have notoriously violent tendencies, especially in the Balkans and Turkey, I don’t think they’re much better. Worse, even.

Not too bothered about Greece winning and I’m happy to see them dedicate it to Baldock, but he no doubt supported England too, and would’ve been happy regardless. I just simply can’t understand rooting for another national team if you normally support England. If you don’t usually watch it, fair enough, but is there something I’m missing? Not trying to be rude or anything, just want to know why.

No I said that parents that allow their kids to wear them are the reason , and I'm not trying to be an arse but I'm just saying no one on here not 1 person said that England should pick the Plymouth goalkeeper last season, but now he's going to play for England, of course he is 🤣🤣
