For what it's worth, the reason I do support England is it's fucking brilliant.

Big games. In iconic stadiums. The San Siro. The Maracana. The Diego Armando Maradona. Soldier Field. The old Sydney Football Stadium. Experiencing proper football culture. The Maksimir. Having a look inside the Lion's Mouth, and squeezing it's balls. The Luzhniki.

Visiting places way off the tourist routes. Kazakhstan. Transnistria. Dnipro. Mariupol. And meeting football fans from different cultures and countries.

I think it's OK to post that argument on a football fans forum.

Supporting England is just fucking brilliant. Must dash. Flight to Helsinki this afts.
I do similar but I dont go to England matches for example in the France Euros my mates went to Wales v England in Lens ,I went to Russia v Slovakia in Lille, and we met up that night in Paris. That way you meet twice as many fans, you dont really care who wins and you see a different style of football. Im not much of an International fan ,I just go for the experience and a bit of a laugh. I watched the Euro final v Spain in a bar on 5th avenue in New York, 90% of the bar supported Spain , I honestly didnt really care.

See something saying panathanikos are not training or playing matches for the next week as part of grieving process

I think what was good about last night was the cliche, football won. The team that wanted it, played for it and gave their all won. Just as Furious would have done.

If England had been amazing, played amazing football and deserved to win I would have celebrated.

As it was, England gave nothing, tried nothing and deserved nothing.

Fair enough but an ex player passing away in tragic circumstances still wouldn't make me want a positive result for a team I have absolutely no allegiance to whatsoever ahead of my own countries national team but each to their own that's what makes us fans unique I suppose
I think it will be the only time we see a picture of a Sheffield United player displayed on a large screen at our national stadium accompanied by a minute's silence for that person.

That's why I wanted Greece to win. For GB.

Not too bothered about qualifiers/friendlies/nations league, mostly because United come first and it's getting a bit dull watching us play weaker sides in qualifying just so we are guaranteed to be in the tournaments.

But I do like watching England in the actual tournaments, mainly because I really enjoy the international tournaments.

But Blades come first and always will.

Completely get that. I love travelling also, but sometimes feel overwhelmed by what to do when I get there, so quite often end up doing, well, not all that much at all!
I thought it might just be us! We recently stopped off in Milan for a few days on the way back from holiday in Crete and friends asked us what we wanted to see there, we had no plan. I could have spent hours in the cathedral and wanted to see the San Siro, but not enough to do the 35 Euro tour, although you get a good view of the inside from the club shop.

Apart from that, there wasn’t much else on the agenda, but we got to grips with the public transport system, found our way round the centre on foot and enjoyed meals out, we just lived for a few days in a completely different environment to home and loved it.

I’m now threatening to revamp my wardrobe and go for a stylish Italian look, which is currently very slimline, but Mrs Trig isn’t convinced that will work on a slightly paunchy, balding 70 year old, so it’s on hold for the foreseeable 🙂

Ex Sheffield United player

Ex Sheffield United player
Why not replace the word player with legend then, rather than choosing the negative option of adding ex?

Probably in the hope to wind a few folk up on the internet, sad.

I didnt see the England game, but have been really impressed with them first half tonight
Kelleher and wayward finishing kept it goalless

Greece v Ireland far more entertaining than the stuff England serve up.

A lesson from these two countries to our national coach (whoever that should be) is quite simply when you have possession of the ball the idea is to go forward.

It does provide much better entertainment for the fans (remember them?)

Is it just me or do others want Greece to win tonight?
Let's hope they smash England tonight in GB's memory.

Then we can have even more meaningless matches in the lower tier of the Nations League.

We'll win the qualifying group piece of piss, so we won't need a back door entry.

UTB

No I want England to win.

Still a game like today reminds me he should be still playing and it must be yet another tough day for his loved ones.

Or alternatively bin this whole Nation League shit off and stop interrupting the domestic game every 2 minutes
