Last time I saw this “never say die / run thru walls / back your team mates / we don’t give a fuck” mentality was Wilder’s pre-COVID Prem team. I, like many, was not impressed by his exit out the back door and unsure about his return but he’s proven what he’s best at - building a team of characters (with talent to boot) on a shoestring for a club that he cares dearly about.

All good last few games, but I can't help thinking we could have got something at Leeds and Boro with a bit of this so called fight and never say die attitude. Especially at Boro, I could have took a defeat at Leeds if there was something contributed to the game by us

Agreed - I think that week after George’s passing though just got into everyone’s heads (which I totally understand) and we just went into our shell in so many ways, almost as part of the mourning period. At the end of the day Wilder, and the players, are human beings as well and not that easy to put things to one side and put your professional hat on .

Said it a hundred times over. I can watch united lose any day of the week as long as they've given it their best shot. To watch that display against Leeds was embarrassing.

I think most football fans only ask that their team gives it a real go for 90 minutes.

The Leeds defeat could turn out to be a blessing in disguise .

The changes in both player selection and formation were a huge mistake . Thankfully , it appears that Wilder recognised this and has reverted to those which got us to where we were before this aberration and have been highly successful since, the Boro defeat apart .

In the long run and it is one , this could prove to be a salutary lesson well learned and serve us well .
