Many years ago (probably more than 50) the Sheffield Telegraph had a headline for the previous day’s match which read “soft shoe but no shuffle “
United had played on a frozen pitch in some sort of boot with no studs (Dunlop green flash ?) and had won comfortably.
Anyone know when it was ?
Apologies to the younger element to whom a soft shoe shuffle may now mean something very different !
