Best player that gets disrespectfully slagged off

Other. John Gannon.

All those in the list ARE shite, if that makes me a moron then i'm fine with that. I'm not going to agree, just to look intelligent. I'm too intelligent for that.

Actually Cotterill was ok. Didn't think we should have let him go. Britton was ok, but was only here 5 minutes. Monty was ok early on in his career but has been past his sell by date for years. Not a good selection of players, a lot of much better players have been slagged off than those on the list.

I went for other.

McDonald has been discussed plenty lately, but he was one that got stick for not "running through brick walls" but since he left we don't have anybody with the intelligence to get into good space (and I don't just mean standing eight feet from the passer) to receive the ball, or the ability to retain possession when marked by two and three players.

Another who I rated but seemed to get a fair amount of slagging off was Danny "one trick pony" Webber. His "one trick" appeared to me to be extremely good technique, both in terms of his first touch and his dribbling ability. Brandy reminds me of him a bit in his style, but isn't as good. I always felt you could tell by Webber's ability that he had come from Man U's academy.

Know what you mean. Leon Britton would fit in perfectly with our style of play now. Blackwell just bypassed the midfield with long balls and made Harper, Britton & Howard look toss

Harper WAS toss to be fair. Complete waste of a shirt

If the answers include Porter, Doyle and Howard etc; then I think the question needs to be changed as they have never and will never be 'good players'

Ok point taken. I will get foxy to change the title.

All players I have listed there are players that I think fans have slagged off because they

A) need a scapegoat
B) aren't football-minded enough to realise that they're good players

I.e. Montgomery - played under 6 (I think) managers and was pretty much starting consistently for all of those guys.
Doyle - been captain under 2 different managers.

Clearly the managers of Sufc are more qualified than me, you and pretty much all other fans that pay money to watch the game.

Foxy - could you please change the title of my thread to something more suitable.

And the majority of these managers got the sack.

I would go with Stephen Quinn.

Now having a good chuckle at ourselves from the Prem.

And the majority of these managers got the sack.

Doesn't every manager get the sack eventually? There are few managers that just retire/resign as they feel they have taken the club as far as possible. I would like to guess that 70% of managers leave due to a sacking with probably 25% poached by other clubs ?!?!

My God, 18 people think Cotterill was a good player for us? Ifill was a far better footballer, scored goals, made goals and had some tactical sense. Cotterill was all show pony.
